If you'd like to listen to Clara's performance I made a little playlist for inspiration.  Here is the breakdown for what Clara's music is supposed to represent.
 

"I started with something evocative, simple and full of wonder and a bit disorientation"

This represents Clara when she died

"Then I moved into a modern variation of Debussy’s Moonlight Sonata, as a wink to my family."
This was one of the first songs in Litany Lane

I followed with a piece filled with the cold uncertainty of death,
(This describes her getting used to being dead and Fierro's  cold demeanor.)

Then a personal favorite Yiruma. Something that felt like discovery, like new love but slightly ominous.
This reflects those chapters when they leave Litany Lane and get all flirty flirty by early LiLe standards

 Then another upbeat melody . . . something slightly flirty . . .like a first kiss.

 Then I ended with Einaudi. A favorite of mine. A beautiful open ended close.
(Which is how things ended, but then somehow I wrote a bunch of sequels.)

Chapter 12 re-cap

Clara lands the biggest performance of her life, while Fierro takes a bit of a world traveling detour.  Just when Clara thinks to much separates them she runs into Mr. Fierro in her apartment, right in the middle of her date. After spending the night together, but the morning doesn't go so well leaving them in an uncertain circumstance.

WORLD JUMPING

So I'm finishing up this section of PLT, this section works in very small arc.  Part II has a big over all arc. . .which I haven't written yet. Like I said before these first  chapters were originally just paragraphs in what became chapter 1.

I've been tunneling myself in PLT, because I have plant\ to start posting QC even though I want to hold on to it forever and ever because it's such a weird thing. Right now I had a rough draft of 43k that I started a new document and paired down to an even rougher draft of 41K. I'm doing actually drafts from scratch now what is happening ?

In S&A days I used to think it was something if I was two chapter ahead. Although I may pants a bit with QC.


Chapter 11
I have no idea how Fierro's POV worked itself into this serial. I just started drafting and there it was

Clara is finally feeling at home in Vienna and is developing a crush on one of her co-workers.  Meanwhile Fierro is starting to realize that Rose needs to be around other children, so now Rose is off to boarding school.

Chapter 12
So, I'm using the new text editor for this one. This chapter came in ~ 7,400. I tried for 10K but the pacing was off.

ISLAND OF THE MISSING PHOTOS

So if you wandered over to my liked pins on the  Pinterest page I linked to last time  you may have seen some photos that warrant questioning. Honestly, a lot of the photos I liked  were ones I wished I could write a story for.

I was looking for King-worthy clothes inspirations when I came across this image. I just love it. I thought . . . wouldn't it be cool if New Aetena was ruled by a king who wore a full face balaclava ? I mean Paris has hideous scars it makes since ? But it's just waaaay to steampunkish and while QC technically takes place in the future (2027), it's not that much in the future.

In QC Seraphina's hair is going to change a lot and she has this haircut at some point.

This guy looks just how I pictured Helios. I can't unsee it.

I'm just all over this pose ! I think their outfits look super cute together. I just like this photo.

This just sums up Seraphina and Leon's friendship in QC











Name Game
When I started Litany Lane I went back and forth on giving Mr. Fierro's first name as Addison, because it's a traditionally female name. However I recently found out that the name Addison is derived from "Son of Adam" which considering Fierro was raised by strict religious people,this name makes sense. So  . . . Continuity High Five ?

So I had to do a little untying with my timeline and I thought I'd lay it out here. The first chapter of PLT takes place in  May 2019

December 2012
End of JNRR

April 2013
Clara and Fierro move to Europe
 
July 2013 - 2015
Clara and Fierro decide settle down and go their separate ways. Clara moves permanently to London and Fierro moves to Maidstone. For the next two years Clara starts teaching and falling in love with music. While Fierro and Emile get into the flower business. Rose just turns 8.

Lils : Not an obsession. He was raised on a farm. It's like horticulture. I really wish I'd put this in Litany Lane. ?

September  2015
Rose is diagnosed with cancer and Clara tries to juggle her work life and Rose's health for the next 6 months.

February 2016
Clara is unable to take care of Rosalie full-time and Rose moves out to the country where she can get at home care. What Clara doesn't know is that the house Fierro lives in. . . is haunted

May 2016
After finding out about the ghost taunting Rose, Clara decides enough is enough. She gets Rose into a drug trial. . . the only problem is it's in Texas. Clara is forced to give up her job and put her life on hold and return to the states.

February 2017
Almost a year  into her stay in Texas, Clara is quickly growing weary of Rose and Rose's behavior. She is starting to become more aware of some of Rose's unusual quirks but doesn't confront them. Clara receives a call from the Robert Essex who tells her getting involved with the supernatural might be the way to cure Rose.

Clara doesn't find a cure for Rose but she does discover that Fierro and Rose have been visiting Lucie's specter who is haunting an old Irish abbey. (It's the one plot point from DSI  I can't let go of.)

Clara also gives Victor a kiss. . . but more on that later

Clara and Fierro also sleep together. . . but more on that later. (Okay, there probably won't be more on that later.)

By the end of it Clara and Fierro have a massive falling out because Clara realizes (again) that he is never going to let Lucie go. Rose goes into remission and Clara and Fierro figure out what to to next.

March 2017- August 2017

After a fatal accident during Rose's welcome home party, Clara walks away injured and a man ends up dead. Clara spends the entire summer recovering and living with Emile. She decides she can stay in London  finds a new job in Vienna but doesn't want take Rose with her.

Clara knows Rose is different and that the world can be a dangerous place for her. Fierro has decided to get away from it all and move back to the abbey in the remote Irish countryside, to be with Lucie, who he feels he has let down. (I serious can't let his plot point go.). They decide it's best for Rose to go with him , where hopefully she can find some peace in solitude. What makes it easier for Clara to let go is that  Fierro tells her about how Peter really died. Also at this point Rose is 10.




Chapter 11 notes

Now, since Fierro lives in the remote countryside he actually lives in a Tiny House (yes, those Tiny Houses who lets face it we all love to hate).  It's implied but I couldn't find a good way to flat out state it, he does it out of necessity. Specifically I picture him and Rose in The Cypress Model. 

I've been chipping away at this chapter for so long that when I first started it Tiny Houses were not the big deal they are now.

Also this chapter is 9950 words long. No big deal.
