So, I thought I'd blog a little but about the world of New Aeterna. Take notes there might be a quiz !
New Aeterna : QC Quick Glossary
Ft. Chelsea Piers - Formerly Chelsea Piers Rec center, now NADF military base and neighborhood.
The Regime : Helios' notorious reign over NYC from 2013-2023
The Nationalist Party - The Prince's Resistance
Supernaturals - Angels/Demons
New Aeterna City Center - Formerly Prospect Park. Formerly Helion Castle now mixed use residential, government and cultural center.
The Capitol - Largest government building in New Aeterna City Center.
Queen Anne's - Residential area for Angels/Demons in City Center. Not all elect to live there.
I remember SHV saying that she took parts out of Compulsion out becuase it was to beaucratic and that' s advice I should follow . . . but don't. With that said here are thing that won't come up about New Aeterna, but are apart of how the country works.
Party Lines
New Aeterna consist of the island of Manhattan and a chunk of Brooklyn. They have been broken up into municipal districts as follow
- Upper Manhattan
- East & West Harlem
- Upper East & West Side
- Ft. Chelsea Piers (Midtown)
- The Village
- Tribeca
- Brooklyn (The U.S section of Brooklyn is just Old Brooklyn)
Other Fun Facts
- New Aeterna has a strong centralized government (yay, Hamilton)
- New Aeterna's laws are enforced by the military. (Martial law can be good. . . right ?)
- New Aeterna's currency is USD. Their relationship with the U.S is alot like Monaco's relationship with France. Except they have a military (I fell down so many wiki-holes)
What's the deal with this King busines ?
New Aeterna does have a King, who is the figurehead behind the centralized Crown National Office. Paris Prince is a populist king meaning he was voting on by the people. Unlike the King of Greece or Britain, The King of New Aeterna handles international relations, diplomacy and lobbys on behalf of the citizens.
What he can't do is give executive decision on popular law. However he can elect the country's first prime minster, who will have that power. However between an assassination attempt and a long recovery Paris hasn't had the time

Recap
After a grueling three year process, Paris has been elected king by a popular vote only to have an attempt on his life occur months later. Now that Paris has healed and Sera and Leon's deployment is up, everyone is back in New Aeterna in time for a big month long court that ends with Paris' first Liberation Day as king. . but will he make it ?
Chapter 6 is the actual start of the serial. Everything else was just one big prologue. Chapter 5 is a shortie so no playlist
