Doing a holiday contest may have been a joke, but I full call a CHALLENGE. Okay, I will cheat with this one but SHV I challenge you to a Holiday Short Fic contest. I will admit I have a Post-JNRR Christmas vault item I wrote last year. It was the first thing I worked on during LiLe 2.0. It has a song an everything. . . except like an ending or like a direction

I've been holding on to this chapter for so long. When Zendaya's Replay was on the top 40 I heard it and was like this is perfect. The last part of this chapter with Sera and Paris was written early on, because I needed to practice writing scenes with them alone together. Also Sera's outfit is based on something Miranda Kerr wore on Spanish Elle

Transfer

So I've been transferring all of my drafts back to a word based program. I'd been experimented on different platforms and now I'm back to Word. It's going to be strange because I do a lot of fragment writing and I'll change contexts or add in different plot points on a whim and not have to hit that official almighty "Save" button. I just hope I keep organized..

I've Got The Music In Me

I'm proud of myself because I'm starting to organize my music and taking notes of what songs will go with what portions. This is something I haven't done since LL. I'm a little scared of what little outlining I've done.  Anywho, The music gods have answered my called  I'm excited for future chapters.

Chapter 4
Sera is out to prove her loyalty to the Brotherhood, meanwhile Ariel is trying to hold it together after causing the death of Hippolyta and losing Sera as a friend.

I think I may have picked up some Sunday-spiration in this chapter. Just a little.

The Return
This chapter marks the return of The Angel & Demon storyline. The two titular characters  meet while the etheral Angel is on the run from a terrifying creature. She finds herself in the company of a Demon (who is royalty) who agrees to help her kill the creature before it can attack his people in his Citadel.

During their journey they stumble across an Angel Village and see the creature has eaten everything in sight. And when they finally glimpse the beast, it's not what they expected.

From the other side of town a spherical cloud of smoke and clouds barrels towards us. It was a swift gray  cloud with sparks of thunder and electricity sparking inside it. It made a horrible gargling noise, like the screams of an entire village. The Angel opened her mouth and pulled the arrow back, her hands shook.

The arrow sailed right into the creature, but did not make its way out.

We had found the thing we were looking for.

It was still here

And it was still hungry.

Bellum Chapter

 I've already said a lot about that section, things are interesting between Sera and Paris, not just on a physical level. Sera was always supposed to be a main character but I was trying to hide that in Lux. Speaking of it's funny to have two main characters whose names don't get caught in spell check when I invert letters to Sear and Pairs.

 I'm once again at the point where I have very little to blog about. So. .

This chapter never had any music associated with it and I probably should have posted this with Chapter 1, but I wanted it to stand on it's own. For some reason the music-spiration hasn't been with me but I'm searching . . .

It's Here . . . Bellum, Part 2 aka Cookies and Wine

Bellum II

I call this part of  Bellum, Bellum II. It seem like it's more than one story, when in fact it's just the second story arc. It's just an odd misnomer, I see this more as like the blue, violet and black sections of United Light

Yes, I'm posting this a little bit earlier than I wanted.. I wanted to have all the chapters in the "dusting off" stage, but  I think getting feedback and seeing how the first few chapters pan out will help me clean up the other ones. See what works what doesn't work.  I feel good about the first 9 chapters and I wrote the end of Bellum II first-ish, because I like knowing what I'm writing up to. So things will be interesting.

 I'll admit some of the chapters are short for pacing !

Recap

 For nearly a Millinea Angels and Demons exiled from their home have lived among us trying to

survive in the human world. Paris Prince rises as the leader of Brotherhood of Demons. . just in time for Helios and his army of Angel mercernaries (yeah, I just typed that) make a reappearance, giving the Angels a hope for the future.

Helios want Paris and his kind gone. When they refuse. . . things get explosive.  Helios is always one step ahead.  However some of his men (and lady) might not be as loyal as Helios thinks.

Tired of Paris eternal pacifism, Callum begins a resistance and starts a weapons operation in Helio's backyard. If Paris can't get rid of Helios the peaceful way Callum will do it the hard way.

Meanwhile Paris loses Isobel Charter the girl he had been told he is destined to love, but instead finds himself falling for his enemie's closest compatriot and lieutenant. .  .Little does he know she is the woman he is really destined to love. She will certainly never tell.

Together Seraphina and Paris with a few select Brothers (Lysander, Ashe, Jonah, Callum, Damien and Dante but he doesn't show up that much) plot to deceive Helios from the inside. Helios has now taken control of the Brotherhood until they are to leave in 6 months time.

While they plot against him Helio's starts to weaken the Brotherhood from the outside tensions begin to run high. How long can they hold on ? Who can you really trust ? Why does Helios want them gone ? What is he planning ?


JNRR-TDOLL!LILE : Okay. .. Now I'm afraid I'm getting to complicated again. I've learned my lesson. I swear.

In The Trenches

We are wrapping up T-DOLL here. Its so funny when I finished this I had this giant sweeping gesture of "this is the end" of Linda Leigh . However I'm so far from that. I'm actually pretty optimisitc that another idea (maybe in 6 months. . . maybe ?) will come to me.  I just don't know what it is ?

So I was going to 86 T-DOLL JNRR but there is a scene involving a peppermint that I never got to write because I couldn't figure out how. I explain in chapter 11.

In which I argue with a doll over literature devices

 Can we talk about how awesome this is in relation to Tomfia and Clierro ? (Yes, I know Mr. F doesn't technically have a job, but that was because I didn't try hard enough to give him one). I just like this. . . this coming from a lady who's been with a tattooed unemployed writer and a Hugo Boss wearing CEO. .  at the same time. I should really write a book.

Okay, guys I'm hunkering down on Bellum II. I really just need to pull it all together . . .but I get distracted. I instead start plotting out Bellum III which has a bunch of odd scraps hanging around. Then I go searching for music. . . then picspiration. . . then I finally get to pulling together. It's close though. . . I can feel it. I used a lot of ellipses.

 I guess I want to have the whole thing "tacked together" before I post. I'm to scared to straight up pants but I think think I could. . . I think. I have 7 chapters up. I know what chapter 8 is and I have no idea what happens in 9 or if there is a 10 but I did finish the last chapter a LONG time ago.

I tried a thing here where I inverse chapter 8 and 9. These chapters are the same events told from Fierro and Clara's POVs. They were created to help you "play along" with the narrative but I think it really just confuse the plot.

(mostly because they aren't characters
in one of my serials.) I love SV's final note that the kids are alright !

How My Light Is Spent

I can't imagine a more perfect story built on poetry and music. The cozy New England setting with friends, family and maybe even a little of the impossible. Who else other than SV can blend kick ass rock music with poetry ? When we started this adventure I had no idea how much  we'd be following the mystery and laughing at Corrine's wit. I seriously want to steal Corrine and do writerly things to her. I don't think I'll ever look at bridges the same.

With that said I'm so excited for her to get to work on Vice 2. Vice has always inspired me to push the envelope and be a little bit more edgy and gritter. I'd be lying if I said  Sera Grigori wasn't based a little bit on Sara Grace (the initials was actually not intentional) and Saint. I won't even get started on what this mystery project SHV and Olivia J are working on. Hmm. . . .

Bellum II Update
It's coming together !I've got a timeline going and all I have to do is put the segments together and fill them in with a little editing here and cleaning up. Basically I want to have more than half of it semi-polished before I post.

So , can anyone tell I'm abridigng T-DOLL ? I'm mostly taking out details so that the chapters added together are  only 6-7K. It's probably not noticeable.

Whew ! I think Bellum might have wiped me out. I try to get started on cleaning up Bellum II and I feel like I need to step back and get really inspired (hint hint, SV). What was great about Bellum is I was working on it during NAF, so I guess what  I really need is a New Thing. I hope I get a New Thing. If only so I can torture you.

Shipping Included?

I'l admit Bellum III isn't done, the last 2/3 is not set in plotting stone. I know how the big pictures ends but the details are very fuzzy. I realize have as little control over my characters than I think I do and one's future is hanging in the balance ? Maybe.

One thing I didn't see (and you all made me think about) was Paris and Seraphina, and if they were doing wrong by Isobel.

In my writerly opinion (read not Word of God, just my general feeling while writing) I don't really think Paris and Sera did anything wrong in relation to Isobel (other than kissing her in chapter 3 , that was bad).

However I set this last chapter to happen after Paris loses his Brothers in an explosion, his proposal  gets turned down and Isobel leaves the state. As for Seraphina  she's had to watch Ares get hanged, watch Hippolyta die in her arms, and she stops talking to Ariel because it was Ariel's fault Hippolyta died.  Both characters are at the end of their emotional string. They both lose the things in their life that made them happy, so they turn to the thing they think will make them feel good.

How will that go ? Well  I guess this me being a hype machine again.


I mostly say this because of my experience with  S&A with Adam and Sofia where the was some real cheating going on. So much so that I'm surprised it wasn't called out as much. Even now I'm kind of surprised about how blatantly Sofia cheats on Tomas. She justifies it all because Tomas isn't a "good person". I have alot of mixed feelings about it. . . the big one being that Sofia sleeps with Adam when she and Tomas are separated. SO MANY FEELINGS. . .  I'll save this for another post.

Enough of that. . . let's talk about my other Serials.

JNRR -

We did the first part of JNRR here. Basically I lay out the entire mystery in the first chapter, so you may want to re-read the top part.

But really, let's talk about Pariphina.

Between Hippolyta, Leon, Helios and Paris it seems like everyone wants Seraphina.

 

Early on Paris is happy and in love with Isobel. He wants  to be all

of course when they   break up  . . .are on a break. . . Isobel turns down his engagement and goes back to Florida.

 

Sera on the other hand has bigger problems dealing with Helio's craziness

even though she's really attracted to him

So, a nice guy like Paris is a good change of pace.

Then Paris has to get all

and he keeps repeating it so she's a little like

Sera just wants 

. . . so they decide to keep up a physical relationship

and he agree because she's pretty

But Paris is making an effort to woo her

 So, Yay

I know, I know

and how.

Now Sera will be taking down SGI from the inside, while Paris is pretending to placate Helios while keeping his relationship (or lack there of) with Sera a secret. Backgrounds will be explored, Aria and Leon get a bigger part. Needless to say when it comes to part two

This is really a different kind of serial for me and I try to have fun with it. It's been kind of crazy and I've made a few mistakes along the way.

As for the parts I have written and the outline I forced myself to do, it looks pretty good if I do say so myself.

Spotify Glitch

It seems glitch in my Spotify playlist turned all my Katy Perry song into Teenagee Dream, when the song was supposed to be E.T . I used it from the Blessed Hearts trailer. It's so hard to find a good cover of E.T  I'm suprised no one commented on what an odd choice it was when Teenage Dream showed up in the playlist . . .

There is a line from Vice/Veritas that shows up here. I just realized it. . . it's minor but I wonder if you can spot it. I believe it's something that Jean says ?

Speaking of Vice

For some reason when I was writing Paris going to met with Helios, the enigmatic and untouchable killer who wants to use him,  I started to feel like I could write SV's Noir/Assassin CyberPunk hybrid.  It wasn't until later that I realized Helios taking a picture of the victims (which is stupid because. . . NSA) is just like in The Place They Call The End Of The World

I get a little more Vice-y in Chapter 1 of Bellum II but then I try to be. . . you know. . . original.

If I Did It

I think if I were (although I am not doing anything new as of late) to go back into reality-based serials I would probably pull a HMLIS. I would do sort of an AU of Nightmare and have it be about a young couple (stop me if you've heard this) who move to Las Vegas (no really stop me.) while broke and trying to make it in popular Vegas entertainment

I honeslty can't see me doing this because I can't "make story" nor do I want to mess with Nightmare

Plotter-Pantsing Hybrid.

There are days when I wish I could go into more detail about my writing style. The more I think of it I think I'm a half/plotter half pantser. We are almost catching up to the prologue, which mind you I wrote a year ago having no idea what the background events were. I just knew it was a scene that happened after some other. . . stuff.

 So while I plot out key/things-i-want-to-happen points, I'm still pantsing what happens in between.

Admittedly there are times when this screws me over because I'll have trouble making major plot points flow(for example why it snows in the prologue even though it's September) , but I can't imaging pantsing and entire thing like S&A or outlining an entire thing like HOF or JNRR.
