So I'll be recapping the entire "New Aeterna" universe as it relates to Queen & Country
The Canon
Lux Aeterna
In the world of Lux Aeterna sects of Angels and Demons have lived in a tense peace for decades. Paris Prince is the naive and sheltered new leader of the Demons, after helping the Angels catch a murder (and or psychotic Frankenstein who created blood thirsty vampire-demons called daemons) Paris hopes to form a better alliance with the Angels and with his girlfriend, Isobel Charter, whom he is planning to propose too. Except he can't forget the kiss he shared with a particularly guarded Angel, Seraphina.
Why, yes I just summarized LA in one paragraph
Bellum :
Things take a turn when Helios Thantos a male angel and his paramilitary league of Angels (known as SGI) come into town. They were sent from Homeland centuries ago and found themselves here. They isolate the Female Angels for a year and start a series of skirmishes with the Demons. Helios takes their money, land and resources.
However Paris has a history with one of Helios closest confidants and girlfriend, Seraphina Grigori. But Sera is loyal to Helios, he is protecting Sera from the warth of the former Angel leader, Anne
Paris and Seraphina have been fighting out an attraction and when Isobel breaks up with Paris, they fall into bed and team up with each other. It's dangerous for Sera to be working against Helios and when she finds out about Helios dream to create his own country "New Aeterna" by isolating Manhattan and forcing the stranded population into bowing down to him , she breaks if off with Paris fearing for her own life if Helios discovers the affair.
It's not an easy break for Sera because her role as a double agent is revealed to Helios (via Paris' brother), she is sentenced to death and tortured. Luckily Helios bodyguard, Leonidas Argos, sneaks her out and takes her to Paris
The Alternate Universe
New Aeterna : 2023
That's when things change. . .
The bombs Helios planted in the bridges blow unexpectedly. New Aeterna is happeing. . .and it's happening way ahead of schedule. Helios sends his soldiers to murder the Demons, as the Demons are the only ones who know his weakness... white gold.
As Helios' soldiers guns down and murders the Demons only a handful manage to escape. Paris is captured and sent to Helios. Sera seemingly disappears into the night.
New Aeterna has risen
For 10 years darkness descends
After New Aeterna's rise quite a bit goes down.. Paris Prince is rescued by survivors Leon and Isobel. They begin a resistance with other survivors; Damien, Lysander and Callum. They are later joined by Ares, Paul and a handful of misplaced Angels and Demons. They build a network of influential supporters and earn money by smuggling people out of New Aeterna.
Five years into the resistance Paris gets word on the whereabouts of Seraphina who was captured by humans and held on Guantanamo Bay with other Angel POWs along with a son she had in captivity. When the U.S agrees to trade Seraphina to New Aeterna as a goodwill gesture the resistance breaks her out, but she sends her son to New Aeterna hoping he will have a better life.
Seraphina and Paris marry shortly after Sera recuperates. Upon realizing that her son has been imprisoned by Helios the resistance breaks him out. Isobel begins to care for him as know one else can or is willing.
They spend the next few years helping people escape New Aeterna. All while plotting to find the Tempest and turn back time.
In 2023, The Prince's Resistance goes in for one last battle.
The AU of the AU : Queen & Country
. . . but in the world of QC they don't find the Tempest. It is either destroyed, missing or never existed at all.. With nothing to lose they go after and overthrow Helios Thantos' regime.This is what happens next
Queen and Country opens up the day after the Resistance defeats Helios. Now a hero Paris Prince moves to D.C where he enters politics and makes it his goal to revive New Aeterna and make it into it's own country. He does this by using his connections to draft PROP1776, a proposition to sever Manhattan from the U.S and officially make it a sovereign nation.
Paris has been told his whole life that he is destined to save his people and this is his chance to become the King he's was supposed to be. Meanwhile the other resistance members try to figure out what to do with their lives post-resistance.
The Kingdom they fought for might be crumbling and some threats might be coming from the inside.

So how old are the characters ?
Well, Angel and Demons don't age like humans so everyone is basically the same age they've been this whole time.
Introduction
So I've said a lot of words but here we go with QC. This really feels like a drawer serial because it's . . . denser that anything I've ever done. Leon is an introspective character and I'm pretty sure I use 10,000 words to describe 12 hour periods. I don't know.
For this story eveyrthing up until
If I'd been in the right headspcae a few years ago I think the alternate universe would have been in Bellum.
I think one of my biggest regrets about New Aeterna : 2023 is how believable the unreliable narrator is, so having Leon do most of the POV in this is the complete opposite because he is honest a fault and he knows EVERYTHING.
