If I Did It
I think if I were (although I am not doing anything new as of late) to go back into reality-based serials I would probably pull a HMLIS. I would do sort of an AU of Nightmare and have it be about a young couple (stop me if you've heard this) who move to Las Vegas (no really stop me.) while broke and trying to make it in popular Vegas entertainment
I honeslty can't see me doing this because I can't "make story" nor do I want to mess with Nightmare

Plotter-Pantsing Hybrid.
There are days when I wish I could go into more detail about my writing style. The more I think of it I think I'm a half/plotter half pantser. We are almost catching up to the prologue, which mind you I wrote a year ago having no idea what the background events were. I just knew it was a scene that happened after some other. . . stuff.
So while I plot out key/things-i-want-to-happen points, I'm still pantsing what happens in between.
Admittedly there are times when this screws me over because I'll have trouble making major plot points flow(for example why it snows in the prologue even though it's September) , but I can't imaging pantsing and entire thing like S&A or outlining an entire thing like HOF or JNRR.

ReplyDeleteYour writing insight really surprised me ! I assumed SA was just pansting while JNNR was all plotting since it relied so heavily on a mystery.
Since I have T-Dolled JNRR, if you over think it gets SUPER complicated. Planing was good, but I should have kept it simpler

He does mess with the other girls (which Sera knows about but doesn't care), but there is a reason he keeps going back to her

DeleteLet's really think about this. . . I really regret using that term of endearment with Tomas. I mean he is a 21 year old lower class drug user. "babe" or "baby" would have fit him more.
Paris on the other hand is like an old ageless supernatural adult male, and has lived in Europe most of his er--long life. He is waay more likely to use this term of endearment.
Did I mention Paris has a British accent ? I meant to put this in there . . . somwhere . . ..

DeleteSee, I wanted to edit that scene so that Ariel saw her do it, because the only Angel POV we have in this story is Ariel. Since she wasn't there she doesn't explain or revisit the moment.
. . . I bet you can see one of the challenges/plot devices I've been using. In order to tell Sera/Helios/SGI's side of things I have to do it through Ariel. Which is why she does ALOT of eavesdropping.
You : Um, Lile why don't you tell it through Sera's POV. That's so much easier
LiLe : I feel like I've done this before, but writing her in first person would be difficult to capture.
IDK why but these chapters made me adore Seraphina. Do you ever think about her POV ?

I never thought I'd like a love triangle until right this moment. I was feeling Paris and Isobel, but in only a matter of words I see the electricity between Paris and Sera. I do think it's unfortunate she's had to be Helios' F-toy though...
