Nolan Inspired
I saw this quote from the Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight on Tumblr and it sort of resonated how I felt about the New Aeterna Alternate Universe.
When I stared Bellum PT2 I used the song SAIL for inspiration and I saw Isobel and Paris running from something and Seraphina (with a haircut) driving an SUV . . . It also took place in a war damaged burning street in the future.. .
I started swirling how I would plot out and continue the serial, then I thought . . .
"This is silly. . . this is to much of a genre shift. It'st to big. Go smaller, Lils."
And I did. That's what Bellum PT2 became. Small. I guess that's why I did New Aeterna as a vault piece side-by-side.
The New Aeterna Alternate Universe is the sequel the serial deserved but not the one it needed then. I wasn't in the right space and maybe Vice and Compulsion helped me get there
Bellum PT2 did it's thing but it didn't really change the status quo. It wasn't the ending the serial deserved. What I hope to get out of the New Aeterna-verse is a better continuity. I mean what intrigues me about the New Aeterna verse and why I obsess with it is that it fulfills things hinted at in Bellum/Lux that NEVER get resolved like :
- We learn the true origins of the Angel and Demons (TIME TRAVEL)
- Paris fulfills his destiny of becoming king
- Sera gets to become a solider
- We explore a world whereAngels/Demons don't have to hide.
Chapter 7
So, I knew this chapter would be. . . subversive. I wanted to take it out but I kept it in because it showed just a bit of the unethical things Paris did to get New Aeterna. And also because also it shows how Leon and Paris' relationship works. That Leon has (kind of) grafted onto Paris the way he did Helios. Is that good or bad ? IDK.
