Except for one part of Chapter 6 and a chunk of chapter 10 I've pretty much finished with Lux. . .which means I looked at N:AF for the first time in a long time. I'm so nervous that I've overhyped it but I'm excited about my playlist. It will certainly feel more like classic LiLe.
Fun With Names
I had a lot of fun coming up with names for this story. Main characters aside I wanted to the Angels and Demons names they would have chosen to adopt over the years. So I tried to steer away from modern names and go towards ironicly biblical or literary ones. Names like Damien and Bane were leftovers from the MC name pool. Ariel (Uriel), Jonathan, Isaiah and Levit(han) are biblical/angelic. Lysander and Paris are from Shakespeare.
Scarface
It just occured to me that I gave both Paris and Clara (HOF) facial scars. However Paris' Glasglow smile was added at the very end after the entire thing was written. I did this because I realized that there had to be a reason that when Isobel saw Paris (in the pictures) that she knew he was the one who saved her father.

Oh, I missed the UL reference the first time around ! All the references give the story a little bit of a surreal feel. Also, no immediate SH-LILE to report.

DeleteSo, remember between FS and SA Eric cheated on his ex girlfriend (Sibohan) with Maddie and that's why Eric and Maddie are dating in SA ? (okay this was only explained in a blog post) Well he cheated again and Maddie broke up with him. Erik during TDOLL made me want to think about Eric some more.

ReplyDeleteWell (here we go) I picked Isobel because I liked the name. . .then I realized a minor minor character has the name Isabel, so that's maybe where that came from.
DeleteHer dad was a Charter fisherman so I went with it. Yes this means Isobel's Dad and the Vietnam war weren't in my original version so I realize her name should be Vietnamese but I like the way it sounds.
Is it sad that everything I know about Tomas Tallis is fom HBOs The Tudors and therefore everything I know about Tomas Tallis is probably a lie.

DeleteWell, there is speculation Tallis was gay, so maybe it’s a reference to Isiah maybe being gay and maybe he likes Ashe or Jona too and is jealous of them. It’s probably Ashe since they work together.
