Yeah, chapter 8 was a short one. I didn't even notice both of the songs had "heart" in the title ! When I looked up names for the Abbey and the town I just found Irish names I liked. However I "google mapped" Wicklow and looked at the street view and it looks just as I imagined.

I will just go ahead and warn you that once again one of these chapters is a short one.
Chapter 9 is taking us back to Clara in Italy and . . . her dead grandparents.

I think I may start reusing songs from Spririst& Angels. I find this is because 95% of the time I choose music becuaes of the lyrics and sometimes for the flow. Which is why chapter 6 had a lot of "exotic" music. I doubt anyone actually knows what Enya is saying half the time. Speaking of which I used the song Kissing by the Danish band Bliss without even really listening to the lyrics. I kept wondering why the song was called Kissing.

ReplyDeleteI had to close chapter 10 in my browser so I wouldn’t obsess over it. I left the playlist on and heard Jar of Hearts and the first line is “I’m not your ghost anymore” ad the talks about coming back for love by tearing up another’s love. That song is so LL.
ReplyDeleteWow, I am starting to feel sympathy for the Bordeoux family. So, I guess this means Clara was supposed to die for the “curse” if they are in fact related. That is so scary but, would make a hell of a movie.

Although I think Emile’s statement about Specter’s “nature” being chaos was a bit one sided. I mean if there are no rules, how do they know how they have to be. I mean has he talked to specter ?

ReplyDeleteThis is an excellent point for Emile. I think Fierro is falling for Lucie. I don't think anything is up for Emile although I have no idea why he hangs around these people who bring him trouble.
That Brave song is just perfect for Clara, it seems just what she needs in a time like this. I love that she is being more active than just sitting and waiting.

@ Bostongirl - I know many of you don't like this but Mr. Fierro never stopped loving Lucie he feels guilty becuase of how she was however at the same time he is guilty because he was to afraid to join her (before he met Clara). When he was dead he was obssesed with living and genuinlty fears becoming what Lucie is.
@ Lia - I was cautions because Clara isn't exactly not doing anything, the song made her seem weak and suddenly finding strength when really she is not that weak.

@ AngelicSpirit - In chapter 5 Clara mentions that she dresses provacitly to take attention away from the scars on her face.
@ Dawn - It's not super important but her parents are paying the bill. Clara is a PHD canidate and can't really afford to live on her own.
