Let's try something

Okay everyone I know it's been a while but as I promised in my last entry I have been working on something new. . . but at the same time I have been itching to get 2 more chapter out of S&A. I do know that there will probably be maybe 5 more chapters left in S&A but I have decided to put that aside for now.

So as far as this new project what started out as a short story is slowly coming in at 13,000 at three chapters so it's not such a short story.

The Idea

So the inspiration for the story is inspired by one of my favorite actors and is a slight political-fairytale-esque story, it's a little scary, a little sci-fi but let's just see what happens.

Re-reading UL also helped me to get the strength to put this up.

I'd love to hear all of your feedback. I've had some new found time to work on this, so here goes.

Litany Lane

"The story of what happens after. . ."

Prologue

Chapter 1

The playlist is a little. . . out there but here it goes. I'll be adding songs to it as I go.

  2. Ms. Leigh I have to say this is just a beautiful piece of writing. Something about the style intrigued me and I am already picking it apart for meaning. I am a little on edge waiting for when the horror part is going to start. I feel bad for not paying to read this. It is amazing how easy you make it to fall in love with a character.

  3. There are times in my day where I get really stressed and something about your writing has a very calming and escapist effect. I can tell you put a lot of work into this.

  4. Spirits and What?! Who cares, I honestly feel like these few words blow S&A out of the water. Maybe because it is the beginning but, it seems so simple and pure. I have to admit it took me a while to come around to S&A but, this already has me.

  5. I like this a lot but, I still love me some Tomfia. You are really great with the names, I want you around to name my kids (if I ever have any). Is their meaning behind the names ?

  6. Ahhh! How did I get so late into the comments ? Maybe it was because I was re-reading this trying to make sense of it I almost feel like if you took out the cliffhangers this could stand on it's own. This totally reminds me of that new Mark Whalberg film

  7. I love the names as well and sometimes it's the little things like spelling it Lucie instead of Lucy. It is too perfect.

  8. I really like the music you used, I don't find it "out there" at all. I turned the volume up and it helped soothe the little ones for nap time

  9. What can I say, I love having pictures and I feel like you incorporated them in well. Although looking at the "cover art" on the front page has me thinking what it could possibly mean.

  10. I know something is good when I have to look a few of the words up like damasked and a few others but totally worth it. I didn't believe them when they said Linda Leigh is Cobalts Angel.

  11. So, is writing wishy-washy crap all day what you do when you aren't ignoring your kids and husband ?

  12. I am honestly already scared, I mean what happens after death ?

I thought Litany had something to do with the Catholic Church or were you just going for an alliteration, I honestly want to know your inspiration !

  14. I totally feel like you took something from JB's computer at Cobalt and made it your own because this totally sounds like his style. You should stick to shopping.

    ReplyDelete
  15. This is totally blasphemy, just because you are an atheist doesn't mean you should be spouting it when you are working in a company under a CHRISTIAN man.

    You should be ashamed.

  16. I love the setting of this and the description of the house. I wish I had a parlor in my house !

  17. Mr. Fierro is a vampire I am just going to go ahead and call it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. lol, somebody always calls the vampire.

I see lots of roses and googling my head of for symolism.

  19. Emile confuses me I mean he dresses from the past but, uses modern lingo so, I wonder when he died or if he even ever died.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I felt sad when they wouldn't give Clara the piano but, it was kind of rude of her to ask for it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. This may not mean anything but Lucie sounds a lot like Lucifier which sounds like Lucious . . . oops wrong fandom !

    ReplyDelete
  22. I wonder if the way Mr.Fierro said her name means anything. It isn't something I have ever thought off. I was always pronouncing it Clair-a

    ReplyDelete
  23. I wonder how you find time for this between all your shopping and being an all-around b!tch. I'm sure Lindsey could have written something much better.

    ReplyDelete
  24. This totally has that Southern Gothic feel to it maybe it has to do with the Victorian style houses but, it is very Mark Twain-y

  25. I would think the afterlife (or Nightfall) would be really crowded with all the people that seem to be dying. Just a thought

  26. I think this is interesting but, I am glad it will be relatively short because I can't wait to see more about Tomas and Sofia.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I think you really need to get your priorities straight and stop "playing writer" with a pen name like a child and grow up. We are near the same age and I know I am more mature than you.

    ReplyDelete
  28. This was really nice I had no idea you had this in you.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Forget Roses and Pianos I am looking for symbolism in Lemonade, lol. I am very interested in this, I can't wait to see how this goes.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I was afraid you would leave us on a bad cliffhanger but, it wasn't too bad of an ending. It left you wanting more but, not to frustrated. Like good chocolate or sex.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I wonder why the money was blue ? Mr. Fierro freaks me out already. Can you give us a niblet of a spoiler on what is next, I am lost as to where this is going.

    ReplyDelete
  32. No ! No spoilers ! I will start a new topic in the lost angels forums for theories.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I like the cleanliness of the site. The margins are a little weird but, it makes the story look longer.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I could not get past the boring prolouge. I would never try to butt in or steal one of my family members careers. DIAF.

    ReplyDelete
  35. ^^^
Some of those comments are totally uncalled for. Clara seems to be taking being dead pretty well, I would be freaking out.

    ReplyDelete
  36. It seems fit a babykiller would write about death. Did you create this so you could imagine all 5 of the kids you killed were there.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Considering she had invitro that means she killed atleast 2 other embryos in the process. This whole thing is pathetic, I can't believe Cobalt would hire you.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Not that I want to get into this clusterfuckery of idiocy but, Joel Baker has stated two of his children died from accidents.

This is about Linda and Litany Lane and this is a public forum so people need to chill.

Anyway, I just wanted to say Linda Leigh's Litany Lane is some alliteration.

  39. @ Shawna H. - Thanks, honey

@ Violeta - Oh, thanks honey. Don' t pick apart to much

    @ Joseph - Really ? ♥

@ Hiedi - Lol, that made me laugh

@ June - Lol ! Yes and No to the names having meaning.

@ July - Yeah that was part of the inspiration. I saw my niece reading it. Was there a cliffhanger on the 1st chapter ?

@ Sam L. - Well, Lucie is short for Lucille.

    @ Shelia - Awww !

    @ Wilson - that picture doesn't really mean anything.. . I think

    @ futureJSO - I don't ignore my kids.

    @ Ariel - I'm scared too, TBH.

@ strawberry_maragrita - first of all yum ! to your username and I did want an alliteration but I saw the word "Litany" on a website and liked it.

@ Danika - It does ? I've never really read any of his books. I did get some pictures from the Cobalt graphic department.

@ Camilla - It's interesting you mention this, this was one of my concerns but I assure you this is not on the athiest agenda. Mostly because I'm not an atheist. This is part of the fairytale part, if you will. I'm not trying to offend anyone.

@ Terri - That would be one extra room to clean, lol.

@ Lorri - I'll say he is inspired by Edward Cullen.

    @ Tabbi - have fun

    @ Emmy - (;

@ Daisy - I guess I never saw it that way. I can see that

@ HpGirl - I like the way you think.

    @ Biteme - (;

@ Loveshereyes - well, I spend about 3 hours a day at Cobalt doing work. I have a legally biding contract. It's interesting because Lindsay is constantly being offered a writing position.

    @ Mark Twain-y, LOL IRL

    @ Nancy - (;

@ CarmelBruleeMe - Your username is cute. I'll try my best. I thin interchanging could get complicated.

@ bookworm - I think right now working for Cobalt is all I really have. I was always a really creative child and maybe it's all coming back to me.

@ sugarcookie - get out of my head ! LOL

some of your usernames are making me hungry !

  40. "clusterfuckery of idiocy" lol, sometimes when people use the f word it makes me laugh.

Linda, I have no clue where this is going and I am excited for this. Will you ever consider publishing it, for no reason but, so people can take it places ?

    ReplyDelete
  41. @Linda-- lol, you said that to me in the last post !

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh Lawd, she was inspired by Twilight here come the Twimoms !, LOL. I think if we keep up with the comments we will guess the ending.

  43. @ boston_girl - oh, thank you

    @ Rae - Well, I guess we could call it's a twisted-love story. I'll say that much

    @ Marleigh - Oh, okay

@ Equine_girl - hmm, I thought it was the format Shawna used.

@ Gina - That's fine if you don't like the story but the music is pretty nice.

    @ Hilarie - intersting

    @ CA_girl - That's a terrible thing to say. I'm deleting your comment

@ Anonymous - I'm not sure how to respond

@ Margaret - I didn't even notice the alliteration. clusterfuckery. . . I'm going to have to use that.

@ Mrs. Maury - that's not really up to me, per se (did I spell that right ?)

    ReplyDelete
  44. @ Lorri - Maybe I shouldn't have said that. . . (:
