Still in the Trenches

Hi

I'm still in the trenches of trying to get out atleast 10,000 words, that way I can constantly update and get a good idea where the story is going. I'm also looking for a new layout. I decided to post today because I wanted the premiere chapter to be the 40th post ! I'm also up to 33 songs on my playlist including a few from the first and second playlist. Here is a little hint for some of the songs; I looked to American Idol for a little inspiration.

It's interesting because I'm starting to feel that Shawna and I are going in the same direction with out characters, one part just seemed to fit that is very United Light. I don't know I guess we'll see.

Right now I have a good chunk that is a little rough and It tells a lot from Tomas point of view something I never thought I could do. I find it difficult and perhaps a little boring to do a straight shot of one persons POV seeing as I have so much flexibility, not having to deal with editors or test groups

  1. If you're average post is 3,000 words won't 10,000 be like 3 chapters ?

  2. @Dillion- Actually, she posts more than 3,00 because she does three chapters at a time.

Why was it so hard to write like Tomas ?

  4. I love you're layout now but, I'm sure whichever one you find will be just as awesome !

I think even when you showed your rough draft it read like a published book so, if I were you I wouldn't worry about it being rough ! I love what you are doing and I am literally on edge waiting for the next great installment.

I love the flexibility you use.

    You are my hero !

  5. I have found I love being in the writing trenches with the serial more than I do posting, blogging or editing.

I found with this I was surprised how and what I could write too.

You know I think we have similar subjects but as I have learned Juliana and Sawyer are not like Tomas and Sofia at all and I don't think they ever will be.

I really do mean learn because I have learned that through the writing process.

But, I do think we must share a brain or something sometimes but, we are still uniquely different. We need to hang out more, are you going to be around town soon ?

    Is this a mini-blog ?

  6. It's like you are a Web Serial expert or something. Do you get a raise or "benefits" for doing this ?

  9. I wanted to add that even when you and Ms. Harrison go in the same direction I feel something special and different in yours.

  10. @ Dillion - I don't know what my average is

@ Tess - I consider each "section" a chapter but it should really be "parts" cut into sections. This new one is going to be chapters.

@ July I should subscribe to it when I figure it out

@ Kelley Thanks, I love your name

@ Shawna Yes it'a a mini-blog ! And what I mean is some of the same themes. I think you'll see it.

@ Stella - I'm defined not an expert and I get no benefits from this.

    @ Italian_bella - same here

@ Paige - Hmm, I 'll have to check, the counter says this is 39

@ Kelley - I find Shawna inspiring when it comes to talking and exprssing thoughts on characters and plots. I'm trying to learn how to do her "behing the chapter" post.

  11. @ Dillion - I never answered your question, I think it was hard for me to write a male character but then I really got into it.
