Hi
I'm back from my break and I've been working on the sequel full speed ahead . I have some time off from work and when I'm not busy with other things I've found alot of time to figure out what happens next, because before I was following an outline of what I wanted from my own life now I'm just taking elements of things and sort of making them how I wish or wanted things to turn out but I'm surprised how fictional I've let everything get, I can't really say I'm not a writer anymore.
When I was a preteen I used to write in a daily journal and make up stories all the time based on all the trouble I would get into and get my mom to read them. Everyone told me I should be a English teacher but science has been my true calling. I guess I feel that by getting this opportunity I'm getting back to myself and have met some great people. I'm also starting to realize that the Pen Name Linda Leigh was supposed to be a character herself ,but she is very real because she is me. The elements of the story maybe mine but Linda is really writing it.

ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how you made your mom read your stories ! My 8 year old is the same way, I listen to every story, song or poem she writes.

ReplyDeleteCould you explain your writing process, so we can see how this one is different. Like did you tell yourself Tomas will leave, Tomas will get AIDS, They runaway in the end and then put in deatils ?

I've always wondered, isn't Spirits technically part of the Lost Angels Series but, it just isn't an Angel book ?

ReplyDeleteI think it would be great if we could meet the person behind Linda Leigh but, I like how she is more than just a name to you. Even if we did meet you I think you'd always be Linda Leigh !

@ Heidei - at the time she was the only one patient enoguh and I was around 11 or 12 and dead serious.

@ Shawna - I'm not broke yet and I think the minute Tomas decided to leave is when the "reality" of him dissapers as for Sofia she goes in and out but I have my die hard feminism wheel turning

@ Both, The new story does (I learned this from Shawna)retrospective via mini chapter. I got the idea while reading Holes.
