Chapter 7-10 are my favorite chapters. They were written in the midst of a slump and just before I began to tip over the edge.

CAPSLOCK
I though I should point out that when I CAPSLOCK for the most part I do it to avoid italicizing things so I wouldn't have to mess with all of  the reformatting. So I'm NOT yelling.


Secondhand Serenade
So I looked up ol' Secondhand Serenade and it turns out he has remixed Stranger. It's more Jason Mraz-y now. In other words someone gave him a Ukele.

Speaking of Hitting Walls
If it seems like I  may be harsh on S&A and to take a line from SH I hit a wall so hard around chapter 10 (Which is where T-DOLL has a slight breakdown). I was so caught up in LL at the time I  had no idea what I was doing with S&A.

P.S Shawna, I will hire someone to hack into your computer and find me those En Moritas drafts.

American Fairtayle Update
So, something I said in the commnets about this serial has changed. It's going pretty well it certainly feels different and I think it might be because it was drafted and  inspired so long ago. Considering the place I'm in in my life I can totally see some people may look to much into it and call it feminist propaganda but I swear it's not. . . not completelty.

Shawna made a comment about me knowing her worker better than her and I am a VHSM scholar. I took so many notes so I could get that tiny flash fic just right. Ask me anything. Although I don't know what happens when Alan cries so. . . hmmm.  I checked out a cyperpunk glossary and I wanted to make the girl in my flash fiction  a Bioroid but once again it felt like it changed the plot to much.

Speaking of which the song that really got me going was Vitamin String Quartet's rendition of  . . . Thrift Shop. It was my original song to play during the chase scene. Some of their covers start of good but some sound  . . .off ?

American Fairytale
So I think this could happen. I learned alot in the T-DOLL process about how to not *headdeask* , hit walls , create useless characters and cling on to Idiot Balls. American Fairytale is no where near the place it needs to be but give me 2-3 months. I wasn't going to post about this but it's in decent condition, better than I thought it was. It just need more DEPTH

 It will be a short (2-3K word chapter) maybe 8 chapters. It is about a 19 year old boy named Cillian O'Conner who has just gotten out of a year in Juvie and a year in Jail. Stop me if you've heard this. Also it takes place in modern day California.

It's had a website for about  2 years, but nothing is on it.  The title has been tweaked to Nightmare : An American Fairytale. This story is so insular that I can't imagine expanding it. See this post for more info


Novellas

Yes, novellas are coming. Novellas are fun and wall-free. Teenage Dream got me hooked on the idea of short little glimpse into characters lives. I have so many LL scraps (I approach doing anything Post-JNRR  cautiously ) because it was only supposed to be one story. Everytime I try a S&A based one it comes out . . . depressing.  A Halloween one may or may not happen.


With that said Spirits & Angels 3 and 4 ! (Using the full name makes it sound all fancy)

So I might have to start actually blogging, since I don't have much to say in these post. Now I could focus on updating you on my progress with ABWG but it would look pretty bleak. I have an outline for ABWG  I know what happens I just need to fill in the blanks.

The Other Thing
So I promised I'd be more of a straight shooter, so yes LL is getting the T-DOLL treatment. Note how spaced out S&A is from the "Novellas".I'm doing this  mostly because I realize how many times characters seemed to carry an Idiot Ball during large parts of DSI.

T-DOLL : Free Spirits 1, 2/3 . . . and 5 ?

To kick off T-DOLL I've decided to start with Free Spirits. Lost Angels is under Cobalt copyright o I can't get the full experience, also it's just to hard for me to comment on the abridged versions.

 I'll admit it was very hard for me to get loose and humorous in my commentary because of how serious some of the topics are. It got easier in S&A because there was just a bit of  Narm and Bowlderization as the story went on. . . and on  . .  and on.

Around chapter 10 of S&A I start to really let loose, because I had no idea what I was doing. SO MANY REGRETS.

I'm skipping section 4 of FS because FS was supposed to be Tomas' story. Sofia's part wasn't really important and it was mostly filler. I could have posted it with a bunch of strike outs but that seemed. . . mean.

I decided to do this in one big chunk but the others will be done in single or double chapters.


I never had any picspirations so I've grabbed some new ones.

Metamorphosis

A few years ago when I started this crazy adventure I could have never imagined how much my life would change. I've lost a lot of things ; friends, my mother and even a few limbs but I've also gained alot ; children, respect and peace.

I started this project, this nome de plume to turn what was years of harrowing diaries into a type of fictional release. I felt as if I couldn't trust even the closet person in my life to have faith in my stories so this name, this ghost Linda Leigh was created.

She's more than a ghost now, she's not hiding behind anything. She's not going to try and be anything except for me. This might sound like nonsensical introspective B.S but I'll hope you'll notice a difference I'll hope you see a small change and maybe the real me. 

p.s - I wrote this before I made a kick ass video to do the same thing


Hey, so how's it going ?

It was on my mind.

I came to terms with the fact that I was never going to finish ABWG a long time ago. It wouldn't change the cannon of the series and I think that one chapter stood on its own. Of course I had access to chapters 2 and 3 so I looked over it for fun and I had to know what happened next.

I had a bit of an outline (5-7 shortie chapters no more no less) and I thought to myself.

Maybe I can do it. . . again.

You know just so it's not on my mind.

Maybe somewhere between kids, housekeeping, volunteering (shopping !) freelance medical research and writing. Maybe I can do this

I spend every night in my gym, after the house is quiet, doing strength and endurance training so I can stay on to of my physical health. But, there are sometimes around 11pm when I want to turn on my Inspy Pandora radio, sit my laptop against JB's and share shots of espresso.

Much like training though I knew I had to prepare. I had to get back inside my own head and you know what that means.

Re-read a thon.

It started off well. I put Free Spirits an S&A on my desktop so I could take some notes, but guys I have a wine cooler (read; a cooler full of wine not B&Js)  in my room. 2 or 3 (read : 6 or 7) glasses later things started happening. My notes became snarky, I started talking to myself , characters started talking back to me and I think I might have even tried to get memetic ???? I'm not going to lie I start scratching shit stuff out.


The Diary of Linda Leigh 

T-DOLL is a  quasi-meta exploration of my works. At time it's cringe worthy, funny and insightful look into what works, what didn't work and sometimes the characters talk back to me. I'm just going to take this one chapter at a time.

Basically it's a re-reading of my works with my purple pen (font) adding Meta notes. Think of it as Pop-up serials or Web Serial commentary

I had such high hopes for my little trailer. Originally I wanted it to be text typing on a page with intercut screenshots, but I kept it simple.

I've created a Juxtapost board to post images  that inspired me. I merged all the tumblr accounts I had and put random captions under them.  LL has more because I discovered photo-blogging around that time. I realized that LL (or as I'm calling it in T-DOLL that other thing) didn't have as many guys in suit pictures as it could have so you're welcome

So, you may have noticed the T-DOLL page has a Novella section. I've always had scraps lying around and I'm still not sure if I want to post unused one-shots. I may try some Christmas ones  but it's hard to make a solid plot.

What I do know is I'm going to kick off T-DOLL with something that's a long time coming.
