Linda Leigh: Block - Double Chapter Post...Sort of... Rogue 10

Blocked !

I...somehow got a strange case of writer's block. After my last post my plan was to finish polishing and uploading the last bit of Rogue that very same week. I was good to go...then I couldn't quite get into the flow of editing and making sure the final 10K tracked. I think part of what caused this was me debating how to break these chapters up. I wrote the last few chapter as one document, so it has awkward cut-offs.

Usually when I need a warm-up I'll dive into Aren't You Cold but I couldn't get into the groove of that serial either. I just kept wishing they were both done and that I could just have the final product.

I seem to be making my way out of it, so we'll see how it goes.

SHV Paradox Line

I was working on the second chunk of 30K for AYC and I came across this line

I turn around to see Seraphina pouring a bottled Frappuccino into a travel cup filled with ice. I turn back to Sven who is absorbed into his phone.

I didn't even remember writing this line and it stuck out to me because a bottled Starbucks beverage shows up in Years ? I fee like the bottled Frappuccino is more of a West coast thing and I can see it as something Haley would drink because he is so busy. I'm not sure why I felt the need to put it in. I had to remove this line because I feel like Seraphina isn't a coffee drinker and she wouldn't like sugary drinks.

Rogue Recap

Leon, Sera and Paris have been captured by Helio's milita, The Legion, for three weeks. Helios is slowly pulling Sera and Leon back into his orbit. Leon can't help but to fall back into being Helios' right-hand man and has helped Helio plan the assassination of Edwin Bless which Leon is forcing Sera to carry out. Sera refuses to give in to his will, but if agreeing means they might be able to escape and save Leon's family she's willing to pretend to go along.

Now, Helios is ready to begin the long road trip to New Aeterna to assassinate Edwin Bless what he doesn't know is Sera and Leon are planning on using this mission as a means to escape.

The truck Troy borrowed from a coyote was already bring outfitted with hidden compartments to get Sera and Helios across the border. I’d be driving under my trucker alias while Eos and Troy would follow close behind in a non-descript car. Because the plan was to drive across the country to New Aeterna. There were plenty of places we could ambush them.

“Leon”, Sera says and I shake my head to focus, “You okay ?”

“Yeah.”, I start working out a new plan, “If we want to get Paris and get the fuck out of here, I’ve got an idea. Here’s what we are going to do.”
