I didn't talk about it in my last post but I totally saw the trailer for the new Charlize Theron movie about immortal mercenary soldiers that is totally based on a comic book that came out in 2017. HMMM Well, some of the imagery gave me Rogue vibes
A Look Inside The Trenches: Pretty Little Things/Monet Drive
In
a post a bit back I congratulated SHV on how she writes in order.
Something I've deviated from since S&A. In the comments of that post mentioned something I
do is pre-write scenes that are easy or that I want to explore
first, then write a "main draft" that is the main narrative. I then weave
the pre-written scenes into the main draft.
I
think the most egregious (and only saved) example of this is with
Pretty Little Things/Monet Drive. This serial was a real ride but one of
the things I did first was pre-write the scenes I wanted out of my head. Then I would weave them into main the narrative which was titled "Spooky"

*Some
Bellum stuff got saved in here by mistake. King of Leon was me trying
to write LA III which would have been Leon's POV. It's 400 words of
broken words and they never leave the airport.
. These pre-written scene include the section
where Clara/Fierro are with Rose in the hospital in Texas and I also
pre-wrote Clara's move to Austria because I wanted to write her a love
interest. Also all of Fierro's scenes living in Ireland, plus the scene
where Clara spends the night with Fierro and Rose in Ireland
Muse : So...you wrote all the scene were Clara and Fierro kiss/ are in forced proximity first ?
Lils: Okay fine. I was
actually trying to write the steamy scenes first because it was always
so difficult to write the characters together like that and I just couldn't see them that way or even imagine a
fade to black or reference to them casually being physical. Which is
what led to me realizing they would break of their engagement.
Muse : What's TDOLLAU ?

: That's me TDOLLing New Aeterna, I got bored and it's mostly me
explaining why Theo is unreliable. I's not that interesting so I stopped
halfway. I may share it one day
With
all that pre-planning I still "pantsed "part of Pretty Litte Things. One of my favorite scenes in PLT
was when Fierro takes Clara to a gathering at Professor Essex's where
they get into a fight and leave---this was written on the fly.
So... I don't know what I'm doing.
For Rogue I actually wrote the end first and then went back and wrote it from scratch. For Cold I;ve been writing everything in order except for flashbacks

“All you ever want is power”, Seraphina says stepping closer to the
electrified cage but not touching it.
“No Seraphina I want you. I want you to join me. Together we can wreak havoc on anyone who has wronged us. I won’t hold
you back Seraphina. You want to slaughter my men for breaking your Sisters?
I’ll let you. They are replaceable. You are not. You are one of a kind,
Seraphina.”
I hear the note of weakness
in her voice, “I’m not that person anymore.”
...You deserve better, Seraphina. I will have your fealty.”

“Leon”, Paris starts his voice shaking.
“It’s okay, Boss.”
“I let that monster put his hands on my wife. What…what were we
thinking coming here?
“This is good”, I say, “We found him. All we need to do is find a
weakness and take him down."
“You can’t let him have me”, Paris says looking at the
medical equipment stacked in the corner, “If it looks like we can’t get
out of this. I need you to kill me.”
“No fucking way. Sera would never forgive me.”

Underneath the swinging light-bulb I catch a glimpse of her face.
The most noticeable aspect being the uneven gaping Glasgow smile ripping
the right side of her face open and bleeding down her neck. The rest of her face was unrecognizable and
covered in bruises and abrasions from the stun gun. The entire left side of her
face was a mess of swollen warped skin covered in fresh second and third degree burns. One of her eyes was blood
red and the other one was swollen shut.
Inside the cage Sera feels along the bars and turns to
face Helios, the thin bars of the cage separating them. She had to force
herself to look into Helios’ stony blue eyes. Helios’ seemed appalled
by his own handy work.
“You did this your yourself”, Helios said

" I told you...I will never
work for you aga--”, Sera is cut off when he
brings the stun gun to her face.
“This is the problem with you
Sera. You can take the torture", Helios says, "There is nothing you
love, is there?
Except maybe your sisters. Except maybe Aria and her suburban house and
her bastard
daughters. That little gray and white house of hers would burn easily. I
could have them tied up and record th sounds of those little girls
burning alive screaming for their daddy to save them. I can play it for
you every night."
“Sera—“, I start
“Don’t you fucking dare Leon”, She says, “He is not going to
blackmail us into doing his dirty work.”
“Sera…it’s my family.”
“Fine”, she says and I can feel the tension leaving my body, “Who
do you want me to kill?”
“You’re going to kill Edwin Bless.”
Leon and Sera hold their own now that they've been captured by Helios for a week.
