Ahem.
I've decided to post because...well it's been a while and I feel like I have a lot of explaining to do. I wrote this entire post over a month ago...then I accidentally deleted it. Which is all well and good because a lot (Current events aside) has changed.
Okay, so here is what happened after I posted New Aeterna-Verse items from the vault in my last post.
LiLe: Wow, there sure was a lot of chatter in the comment section about Q&C in the last post. I should go back and re-read since I haven't looked at it since I posted it.
*2 hours later*
So yeah, I went back to re-read Q&C and realized I really missed the mark with NA3. I forgot how intricate the world-building is in Q&C. I really put Paris and Seraphina's relationship through it and they both give and sacrifice so much emotionally. I just don't give the arc of their relationship justice in NA3. So I need to figure that out.
I'm Going To Talk It Out
Like I said I'm struggling with NA3 but Q&C is far from perfect, I think one of the big issues is that I initially set up Bart Giuliani (The leader of the Unification party and an Anti-Angel politician) to be the villain ðŋ. In Q&C our rugged resistance fighters are finding their place in the new world they fought for. Paris becomes King ð while Sera and Leon join the New Aeterna military. Things are looking up until Paris is assassinated but survives.
Everyone is celebrating but Isobel has been kind of cagey and she reveals to Leon that she saw Leon and Sera on the roof when Paris was shot. Then we go backwards ⏰ and find out that Bart Giuliani blackmailed Sera into assassinating Paris. After the assassination Sera kills Giuliani (in a fit of feminist rage ♀️ð ) . This is also somehow the start of the serial ????? Instead of the PLOT.
It's like...I killed the antagonist in the first act ? Then Solstice becomes the main villian--she is Giuliani' protegee and a DOJ agent that doesn't like Angels. I realized I needed her to be more emotionally involved in solving Giuliani's mysterious death ---so I gave them a father/daughter relationship but...it never came off well.
I wanted Solstice to be my anti-hero but she was vastly out-shined when I brought back in Anne (The former leader of the Angels who was exiled by Helios and still salty) as the new Unification Party Leader as yet another antagonist.
Anne and Solstice don't get along but they team up with an Anti-Helion terrorist (FOUR antagonist ðĪŠ) to sow discord in New Aeterna. However for Anne and Solstice their anger is more targeted at Seraphina. Solstice knows Sera killed Giuliani and Anne hates to see Seraphina and Paris in charge.
See, this should have been the main conflict. The conflict between Solstice/Sera/Anne. I also wanted Solstice to be a love interest for Sera (instead I wrote a clunky scene where they make-out).ð
I also stumbled a bit because when it's revealed to Paris that Seraphina was the one who shot him, he sort of shrugs it off that he suspected it was her but wasn't sure because "he didn't think she would miss." This reveal should have come at the end. (P.S She missed because she was crying. That's romantic right ?)

I want to close out this post with a T-DOLL that I think really explores what I wanted to do with Paris/Seraphina and that is a High School!AU I wrote called School Shuffle. Basically what I did is I took the dynamics of all the main characters and smushed them into this kind of strange serial but I think it might help ease us back into the Lux Aeterna-Verse.
