Femme Fatale & Chapter 7

Femme Fatale

I found a playlist on Spotify entitled "Femme Fatale" and it made me realize that was the kind of character I was writing for Sera. I even double checked with the TV tropes page and was surprised by how much of this clicked with her, down to the lady in black trope. These quotes  section made me wonder if I had maybe internalized this trope without even realizing it.

If the Femme Fatale is vying for the hero's romantic attentions she will likely have a sweeter and purer rival.
she manipulates and confuses The Hero with her undeniable aura of sexiness and danger. He knows that she's walking trouble and knows much more about the bad guys than he might or she should, but damn it if he can't resist her feminine wiles.

Chapter 6 Recap
Paris returns from Boston with a full heart and lands right in the middle of a mutiny.Callum and his own Brother Jona have locked him up so they can enact the ultimate revenge against Helios.

  1. This chapter was amazing I like starting with a quick fight and ending with some romance, but I'm a little scared this is coming to an end...

    Also, I see what you did there...(;

  2. I love that you “diagnosed” Sera as a “femme fatale.” I never thought of her like that, she was just like the other SGI soldier except you know “the girl one”

  3. I know the action scene wasn’t in the chapter, but I could feel all the tension and drama !

    1. Right ? I am so worried about the Demons they took as prisoner...I imagine that won’t end well.

  4. Awwwww….they she said I love you ! Is that why this was posted on Valentine’s Day ?

    1. Yeah . . . sure. . . I had it planned out the whole time. . .

  5. My favorite section was when Sera was explaining about how she had to kill all those men who she was married with. Do you think she was immune to violence or if having to kill those men messed with her any ?

    1. It messed with her. It's why she can be so distant and one of the reasons she was so mean to Paris early on.

  6. I loved the Paraphina action in this chapter ! I’m so glad someone else knows about them and it wasn’t like A Big Deal kind of thing.

    1. I can see this. Ashe had inklings the whole time. He is very perceptive.

  7. Okay, this chapter was great but is Isobel ever going to show back up ? I keep waiting for it to happen at the end of a chapter or something.

      @QueenAnneAlumni - yeah about him

  8. His features soft and pragmatic. His frame thin and unassuming but capable of seduction and pleasure.

These kind of feel like backhanded compliments. I mean...thin and unassuming ?

    3. I have no idea how to answer this. I can kind of side with Marianna on this one.

  9. We are always talking about Sera’s height, but was it ever established how tall Paris was ?

  10. Hey, Lile are you somehow implying that there could be living Angels out West somewhere ? Maybe they can have a tussle with some fairies?

    1. Or something. Because that bit sounded sequel bait.

    2. Lol, this is something to chew on. Although honestly the Angels probably aren't alive any more.

  11. “He had a wild dark side, a bit crass, a competitive drinker, gambler and he was always so . . . delightfully rough”

I get the feeling Serpahina isn’t into super vanilla sexy times.

  12. “Then finally there was the Prince.”

“The prince ?”, I said bringing my hand to her perfect lips. Her teeth grasp the tip of my gloves and I pull my hand away, letting the glove slip off.

Is it supposed to be a play on words that his title goes from uppercase to lowercase here ?

    1. I just now realize that up until recently he was technically Prince Paris Prince.

    2. More like Prince. Paris Prince.

  15. All I want to know is if there is a choir version of that first song and if so what does that sound like.

    1. It sounds a little to "movie trailer" for my taste. Jo Blackenberg has been featured on a lot of commercials.

  16. Girl, Ariel you need to get with the program...she has one job, drive Sera, and can’t do it.

    1. I mean I love her innocence and perspective and all, but she’s the most useless narrator since Nick Carraway.

    2. @ Trish - In Ariel's defense she is drunk and it's dark and raining. She is sort of the victim becuase Sera has been ignoring and only talks to her when she needs something.

@ Rei - Ariel's POV is in here so we can get both sides of the story. Yes I know what you are all thinking. Why no Sera POV. This will be asked and answered.

  17. My ears perked up so hard when Ashe said “gay supernaturals”. That should so be a genre...that could be an Ashe novella type thing.

  18. So, should we be reading into the fact that right as Pariphina have unprotected sex, Leon barges in saying a baby is being born.

    1. Paris and Seraphina can't have children. Angels and Demons can't procreate. I promise I won't go back on this.

  19. I feel like Seraphina needs her own POV. Do you think we will ever see one for her ?
