The Return
This chapter marks the return of The Angel & Demon storyline. The two titular characters meet while the etheral Angel is on the run from a terrifying creature. She finds herself in the company of a Demon (who is royalty) who agrees to help her kill the creature before it can attack his people in his Citadel.
During their journey they stumble across an Angel Village and see the creature has eaten everything in sight. And when they finally glimpse the beast, it's not what they expected.

From the other side of town a spherical cloud of smoke and clouds barrels towards us. It was a swift gray cloud with sparks of thunder and electricity sparking inside it. It made a horrible gargling noise, like the screams of an entire village. The Angel opened her mouth and pulled the arrow back, her hands shook.
The arrow sailed right into the creature, but did not make its way out.
We had found the thing we were looking for.
It was still here
And it was still hungry.

ReplyDeleteSo, I used Zendaya for a picspiration but I never listened to her music because I assumed it was like music for kids, but I totally love this song ! I can't believe you said you were running out of music, these all fit so well with the chapters.
I'm still in my early period with the songs. As we go on I have to search for inspiration.

DeleteYes. . . and I don't know if I've mentioned this but Lysander was supposed to die in the explosison but he was already written into future scenes (including this one) so I kept him alive. Callum was supposed to confront her when I had killed Lysander, but I like Lysander.

ReplyDeleteSo, when I was reading the playlist went back to the top and my speakers blast “She got a body like an hourglass but I can give it to you anytime.” and I can’t decide if this is a better line for Sera or Isobel to say if they ever have to fight over Paris.
I don't know how to answer that.
DeleteI wonder what would happen if like Sera pulled a Pocohontas (Disney film version) and like told Helios he’s have to kill her and all the Angels if he wanted the Demons gone. Then he’d have no one to rule.

@Ashlyn - I will say Sera wouldn't do that because she cares to much about her own life. There are very few who have an issue with Helios.
How tall is Paris ? Is he really that short ? I just though Sera was just tall.

Delete@Carleigh - Paris is 5'6 so he's not short per se but Sera is 11 inches taller than him and wears heels so he appears very short.

DeleteThis chapter had some great emotional moments in it, but I have to say I'm really noticing Jona. He may be the youngest, but he's kind of a smart ass.
ReplyDeleteOh and the second best moment was when Paris thought of Isobel being able to read his breaths. It's one of the few times he brings her back up.
DeleteWhen I first wrote Parisobel I wanted them to have a real connection, so early on in Lux they are able to read each others "expressions" and "breathes." I really wanted to focus on writing the start of a relationship with them. Something I never really hit on in anything else I've done.
Ugh, I had to read it a million times to understand it but those Shakespeare quotes are gorgeous.

Delete@Heidi - Yes, Sera is distant which is part of her personality. She is looking for something (or should I say found something).
As for Paris why she puts up with him is because she can teach (taught) him to satisfy her. Also I would say for the reason given here, because Paris is a "nice man" and nice guys always win. Right ? Right ?
