A Little Setting Up

Bellum Chapter

I've already said a lot about that section, things are interesting between Sera and Paris, not just on a physical level. Sera was always supposed to be a main character but I was trying to hide that in Lux. Speaking of it's funny to have two main characters whose names don't get caught in spell check when I invert letters to Sear and Pairs.

I'm once again at the point where I have very little to blog about. So. .

Chapter 2

This chapter never had any music associated with it and I probably should have posted this with Chapter 1, but I wanted it to stand on it's own. For some reason the music-spiration hasn't been with me but I'm searching . . .

  1. Um, why was that short ? Are you trying to torture me ? Do you use Spotify radio ? Its been working wonders for me...also Hozier

  2. I love how the emphasis on different words in the first line change the meaning. That was cool!

  3. But...it’s...so...short ):
Are there going to be longer chapters ? I admit I put this into a counter and it was the equivalent of only 5 pages.

"There is nothing to talk about, Ariel. You knew you were forbidden to go to Riverdale, you knew that. Was it worth it ? Risking everything for some man. . . or boy."

This is either foreshadowing or her bring a hypocrite.

    1. Wait…wait..that’s why Sera is so closed of to Paris, she is afraid of she’ll become senseless over love. Am I on to something ?

    2. She has a Freudian slip, becuase she is risking everything just to sleep with Paris.

    3. @ June - kind of kind of kind of

  5. Why Civil Wars, why did you break up ? I totally get this song for the feel...when I saw them in the playlist I thought it's be a more folk-y, acoustic song but I like how the CW have quiet songs without vocals

    1. For a long time I didn't think they even had vocals.

Because I may or may not be curious to know if Sera would ever go down on Paris.

    2. How about a novella about whatever Leon said to get into Aria’s pants ? He must be pretty smooth.

    3. @Ashlyn . . . she did for a little bit in chapter 12. For some reason it feels odd to copy and past it out of context . . .

@Peace_Goddess - I'll think on it. Aria and Leon are generally sweet and nice people.

  7. Speaking of Leon, I really like him, I hope he turns out not to be a bad guy. I kind of like him and his honesty and confusion over being a parent.

    1. Ugh, I’m scared either Aria or Leon won’t make it out in the end.

  8. Paris should get the award for being the most un-leader leader in the world.

    1. I mean he’s playing a long game while Callum doesn’t see that. Callum’s plan will just piss the Angels off more if they discover it.

    2. I think something is going to happpen to Jona now ): Like maybe Helios is going to figure out what they are up to in Brooklyn

    3. @ Drifter - Not his strong suit and he admits this

      @ NYBarista - and how . . .

      @ Topaz - Is he ? is there ?

  9. Do angels not get hungover ? How has no one noticed she became an overnight alcoholic.

    1. She's mostly drinking at night, so everyone thinks she is sleeping. This comes up later . . .

I originally wasn't going to "out" her problem and wanted to see if anyone picked up on it, but I digressed.

  10. "Uh, no. . . not since we broke up."
    "What ?"
Had I really been to busy with Helios to notice.

No Paris, I think you’ve been too busy with Seraphina

  11. I love how Callums like ‘stop being dramatic’ when he’s making secret bullets in Brooklyn

    1. Callum was originally a one line, in name only character. I like his anger.

  12. I think drinking has made Ariel more bold, the way she just went up to Helios table.

    1. True. Although she wouldn't have done it if it wasn't in public also she feels kind of safe around Leon.

  13. The contrast between the Demon breakfast and the Angel breakfast is so interesting...although I’d still want to roll with the Demons because Helios would creep me out. Like he seems controlling and like he'd just do whatever he wants with the girls.

    1. Maybe Helios has his eye on Ariel and that's why he invited her to the party, not because he thought she was Seraphina's friend.

    2. @ Appletini - Helios is very controllling

      @ Nybarista - GOLD STAR !

  14. IDK, I wonder what I’d ask Helios if I got to eat breakfast with him ? Like, what would we talk about ?

    1. Probably himself...or Angel Food cake

    2. @ Slodger - Himself and maybe Angel Food cake. I need to make a joke with this

  15. I’m not sure if this is intentional or not, but there is something in Ariel’s voice that makes it seem like she is aware of the readers. It’s not something I see as much in Paris voice. Like how she says 100 years means nothing to us, talks about the microwave being their only technology etc. really struck me like she was breaking the 4th wall.

    1. Yes, Ariel's voice is written in more of a "diary" or confessional format. She is confessing her life in an intimate way and I I wanted to do that with a younger character. It's how I hear her voice.

  16. Unpopular opinion: I don’t think Ariel deserves forgiveness. She keeps acting foolishly and other people get hurt. I mean once, okay, but twice ? Sorry, not sorry.

    1. Oh, but I don’t think Seraphina should have put her hands on her, that was a bit much.

    1. It's really oatmeal, just cheap off brand with twice as much water. Although Callum might have done something to Paris'.

  19. How does “breaking up” really work for Jona and Ashe though ? I mean assuming they all make it out of this alive they’ll still live together and be brothers ? I just thought Ashe was being a little cruel by saying he didn’t care.

    1. I guess they will have to find a way to go back to the way things were before they were dating. Ashe is bitter because this is the first time someone has broken up with him,
