Chapter 8
I would argue that chapter 8 and 9 are interchangeable. I'm 83% sure that I wanted chapter 9 to be posted first but I think it flowed better this way. Just something to think about.
Chapter 9
This is the chapter I mentioned a while ago that I had to re-write from scratch after losing it in a "Save As" "Replace" accident. I never realized how long this chapter was yet it still feels very short to me. It's 6,650 words so it will make up for last time.
This is the last chapter I already had finished. So hopefully when I post next time the entire story would have been finished.
Although I think I want throw something up (not chapter) about Lost Angels.
I couldn't remember all of my song choices so I had to do some recon and steal some song from previous SH playlist. I found so many good ones.

So we finally have some idea about what happened at Thanksgiving. We've got divorces, mistresses and wills . . . maybe LiLe is channeling her inner Tyler Perry ?
Chapter 9
That must suck when you lose something. I do remember that post. But this was honestly, one of the best written and plotted chapters. I loved it.

ReplyDeleteI always associated Born ( I don't remember where I found that song) with the cold, dark and melancholy of the opening sections of Veritas. It was always an intro into that world. Now, I think it fits in with this cold atmosphere of Chapter 9. It works so well !
Also, I really like some of 30S2Mars and I used them a lot as inspiration for Veritas. I mean some of their music is a little to punk for me and I mean, most of them are about death (perfect for us) but hey Jared Leto.
I don't know I just steal the 30S2Mars music you use. I was cautious about using Born because the lyrics went to so well with the situation of the characters in Veritas

I never thought about how she was told but she does know he is her father. I think it would be odd if Rose even knew Martin's first name.

Is Fierro talking about her obsession with Martin dying or her calling him Papa ?
He is talking about her obsession with killing Martin. She calls him Papa earlier in the chapter and he doesn't seem to mind.

That altercation between Martin and Mr. F shows to me says that Martin isn’t all that tough. The moment the gloves come off and Fierro takes a gun he can’t handle himself. I’m starting to thin Martin is mysoginistic
ReplyDeleteCorrect ! Martin isn't tough. He was raised in a rich family he was a musician he never really had to be physical (much like his father . . .) He is also 56 years old. He also thought Mr. Fierro was going to kill him, but yet I agree with all your findings.

The truth is the Classical Music industry is dwindling. Conductor's barely make minimum wage and if it's not Julliard a lot of music schools go by the wayside (but you'll never see this on Glee)
I have to ask, do you think Martin is in Litany Lane ?
