@ Shawna
The song was Good Night Song by Tammy Hall NYC. It reminded me of how Kris was getting on the plane to try and leave his family business.
Clara/Sofia
I commented about the difference between Clara and Sofia and I would say Clara is definitely more headstrong than Sofia. Clara drinks hard liquor, she drives a big car and she is motivated by her talents and uses her beauty to her advantage. She is amiable but has the ability to be cruel.
Now this title makes me want Clara/Sofia to be a couple.
Chapter 13
Clara's Conversation
Clara talking to Mr. Fierro was the first time she really opens up and we get the full view of her and Rosalie's relationship. The last thing she says about loving her because she has to was originally in Chapter 4, but instead of saying that Clara somewhat resents her daughter I decided to show it. I also wanted to give more insight to Rosalie's childhood.
Yes there should have been a " at the end.

Chapter 14
Hon, I have no idea how your mind works and you come up with these amazing plots and such. Love it ! Also, I like that song- interesting band name.
ReplyDeleteWow . . just wow, some of the Delune Family members are just really awful human beings.
ReplyDeleteIs it weird that I think trading your soul for eternal life sounds like a pretty good deal ?
ReplyDeleteOIC, so the doll 'dying' in Emile's place was foreshadowing this part.
ReplyDeleteThis chapter was so scary, seriously I had to have my husband read it before I could to make sure it wasn’t to scary (what I’m like Clara and I’m afraid of the dark !!)
ReplyDeleteParis is burning ? More like London is burning ! I totally recognize those songs from STYCD too !
ReplyDeleteNow that you mention the differences I can see them between Clara and Sofia. I think Clara is kind of like Rose in the Titanic a little. A little bit feisty.
ReplyDeleteOMG, yes I can so see Clara and Sofia in a relationship ! Clara would be like butch and fem at the same time. Who needs these good for nothing leading men ?
ReplyDelete^^
ReplyDeleteSorry, I need the good for nothing leading men !
The two songs for part 1 go really well together, they sound very similar musically. It added to the mood a lot.
If this was a real book and it had the cover it has on the website it would be so misleading. This one is way darker and scarier than HoF--which has a more forbading cover.
ReplyDelete^^
ReplyDeleteYes, that’s it this one is way darker I mean it has child abuse, disfigurment, implied ghost rape (never thought I’d type that) mass murder and . . . they were smoking.
^^
ReplyDeleteAnd why is Victor going after children, first Josh than Rose--implied pedophilia ? No. Okay.
Is it possible for Lucie to kill Victor ? I mean since they are equal.
Why does Lucie appear the same age as Clara, can the Specter’s change form ?
ReplyDeleteThis chapter was another nail biter, way more than chapter 9. Was any of this inspired by The Omen or Esther--is that the name of the movie about the demented orphan ?
ReplyDeleteHas the whole being changed from male to female thing been explained yet ? I mean if Victor wanted a baby why not make her a boy like him.
ReplyDeleteI’ve said it with HoF and I will say it with this, they should all just die at the end, it seems to be the only amlicable way--they’ve all made some terrible mistakes and can’t get on in life. Well, except Emile . . .he should write a book about the whole thing and make money.
ReplyDeleteSo, is Essex’s part over ? He seemed like he was going to provide so many answers.
ReplyDeleteWas talking about Clara’s long hair also part of the foreshadowing of her getting strangled.
ReplyDeleteI knew Lucie was going to have a change of heart, she just seemed so different. It's like she got what she wanted and realized it didn't make her happy.
ReplyDeleteIt will kind of be hard reading HoF and LL again because she is such a villian in those books.
Where did the roses come from ? Where they from Victor ?
ReplyDeleteI love the way you describe Rose’s hair. It seems to have just as much personality as her.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I get Victor’s creep factor, he is definatly giving off some perv vibes as well but, I also feel kind of bad for him. He didn’t exactly choose to be a Specter and I doubt he will ever come to terms with it like Lucie. He didn’t choose this.
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly choked Clara ? I mean was that really an accident or did Victor do it, if he did do it he really messed up by leaving sicssors in the room. Also why didn’t Lucie just help her down.
ReplyDeleteIn S&A and all of those Sofia doesn’t drive does she ? I mean not much, she isn’t very mobile where Clara is somewhat of a jetsetter.

ReplyDelete@ Shawna - Do you mean St. Vincent ?
@ Carter - Some ?
@ Tabbi - Common theme in fiction. . . like POTC
@ June - I can see this
@ Harper - oh, no
@ July - For some reason I just like song.
@ Nybarista - lol, i see this
@ Ashlyn - I know
@ Quinn - That's why I picked them
@ Biteme - True
@ Heidi - oh, dear
@ Boston_girl - No
@ Cerie - Yes, I should have mentioned that
@ Cherry - about that. . . it was a misdirection. technians get the gender right 76% of the time. that stat inspired this idea. There is also something else.
I know it was unintentional but, there is an extra ‘c’ in one of the chokings and it looks like a new word that means being shocked and choking at the same time. It totally fit the mood.
ReplyDeleteI don’t think Lucie should blame herself for how Martin is acting. It seems like he kind of turned into a meaner person when he lost his money.
ReplyDelete^^
ReplyDeleteI am seeing greed as a common theme in all of the ‘bad’ people. Lucie for things, Martin for Money, Roger for alcohol and Victor for power.
On top of the whole baby gender changing question, what was the deal with Clara and her dead maternal grandparents. How was that happening.
ReplyDeleteIf Victor has a soul to keep him human and Lucie has lightened up since Rose’s birth then who has been killing all of the people Mr. Fierro meets.
ReplyDeleteIn your head how does Lucie look ? I mean is she transparent or anything . . . this sounds like a dumb question but, Lucie grips Clara’s arm so I am assuming she is human like.
ReplyDeleteNo, I meant Tammy Hall NYC. At first I thought Tammy Hall was just one woman.
ReplyDeleteWow, can not believe that statistic. Crazy.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDelete@ Emile - lol
@ Rei - Yes and No
@ Trish - Yes
@ Appletini - Yeah, about that
@ Sugarcookie - There is a garden outside the hotel. Clara has tea there
@ Marleigh - I love naturally curly hair I imagine it is like Hilarie Burtons.
@ sugarcookie - Yeah, about that
@ Carleigh - Victor did it to get her to leave the room.
@ Holly - No, Sofia doesn't drive until Adam teaches her.
@ PrincessA - Oh, No !
I know I am coming across vague
ReplyDelete@ Lori - Who taught him to love money so much ?
@ Illia - Alcholism is genetic
@ Selena - Her grandparents are haunting the resturant.
@ Tori - Lucie did kill Emile's neighboors becuase she was still bitter. However Victor killed the people at the Ashram because he needed Mr. Fierro to leave and come to London. Remember what Lucie told him in chapter 6 ?
@ Wilson - she is becuase she says that loving Rosalie has helped her become more and more close to being human, as opposed to causing terror as she did orginally.
@ Shawna - Oh, that is how those indie bands are.
I was concerned about how the actions in this chapter would be precived I hope I helped make sense of things.
