Joel Erik
So, I have this nifty software that tells me some of the ages of people who leave comments on Cobalt blogs. I felt as if I set a bad example by going ALL CAPS on Joel and Erik on Shawna's blog. I overreacted and should have just ignored them because I very quickly realized that their words literally mean nothing to me. We at Cobalt love hearing what great things readers have to say in person and online, I think we have seen a tweet pic of Erik's face when someone admits they have read his books. A nice comment goes along way.
- I swear this isn't a PR stunt (;
Updated Editor
As you can probably tell I updated my blogger editor and it was messing severely with the template so I had to change it.

Twist, Maybe ? Cop-Out, no
Somewhere in the middle of HOF (chapter 4 maybe ?), I had the prologue of DSI stuck in my mind. It was just a fun thought but once I had the plot I had to make it happen. Sure, maybe I originally wanted to kill of Mr. Fierro because it logically made sense as the only way Lucie would stop haunting Clara.
I was adamant about defying my own logic and not killing him off and was one of the reasons I had hard time with HOF. It was never really about him dying it was about him choosing to die choosing to leave Clara that really mattered. In other words having free will and not acting on it.
So, In HOF something happens discretely in the last chapter.
When Clara is in the police station and runs into Emile she notices
I noticed Emile's shoes were covered in dirt and snow and I realized he had been digging.
Clara assumes he was burying Mr. Fierro's body back (*shudder*) in his grave.
She assumes he was burying a body and he was. In the previous Chapter Addison begins to dig up his own grave but stops.
What Emile actually did was take the body of the Reverend (remember him) and buries him in the open grave. Now because Martin is insisting that he met a man who died 50 years ago Sheriff Rainer digs up the grave which leads to this line.
Sheriff Rainer had driven herself mad after where they found the body of a reverend.
Which was one of the reasons I focused on Rainer in the end. She could possible put the pieces together about Roger and Lucie killing Mr. Fierro.
Missed Music Moment of Awesome
I truly loved the choice of Hey Ya for the last chapter of HOF, however the other option was Where You Are by Josh Groban. But I don't entirely like the song. . . It's a little cheesy.
Picture Post
This Irish Abbey is based on the one described in Chapter 2
What's not there
Anyone notice something. . . strange or missing in chapter 2 ?

Chapter 3
I know, I know, no update but I am writing--well,okay thinking about it !
ReplyDeleteLove the new layout, I'm in the shop for one myself where did you get it ?
I can't believe you knew the whole time Mr.Fierro was alive. I am going to re-read HoF to see if it changes the way I read it.
ReplyDeleteI think Greta's name is written all over that top part. I mean you would never type in Blue. . . . unless you are feeling threatened by MT ?
ReplyDeleteAnyway,I have to say Clara's parenting style reminds me a lot of my ex-girlfriends. She is like almost to afraid to be a parent.
NGL, I squeed when I thought SH updated !
ReplyDeleteHow do you find this music ? It is so pretty ! I hope there are more picture posts in the future !
ReplyDelete@ Erik - I swear it was all me. Consider the blue a peace offering.
ReplyDeleteThat is sooo a PR stunt. And a bad one at it, I would never.
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't think your readers are that impressionable considering the content--I'm just saying.
I love Emile. He is like the best friend ever to both of these crazy people. I hope that doesn't bite him in the ass in the end.
ReplyDeleteI can't belive no one thinks I can feel sorry about something. I just let those two idiots get the best of me.
ReplyDeleteI agree Clara is kind of a less than perfect parent. She turns up the music over her daughters screams and never reprimands her. I thought Rose was bad because of some spectre thing but, it is probably because Clara lets her do whatever she wants.
ReplyDeleteI love Emile too ! I hope he gets a boyfriend somewhere in the middle of this.
ReplyDeleteI think the even more important question is where did Rose get that doll from ?????
ReplyDeleteIs there a reason Emile didn't tell Clara about what happened in his neighborhood ? I just think she might notice all the empty houses/apartments.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like Clara is putting her mother through just as much as Rose is putting Clara through. I love this story-- I can't wait for more.
ReplyDeleteI would love to spend a day with Emile he seems so cultured with his PHDs. I'm guessing he is the author vicarious . . .?
ReplyDeleteI re-read chapter 2 and I can't figure out what I should have noticed. THere wasn't nearly enough Fierro ?
ReplyDeleteWhy does Emile only have canned soup ? I'd imagine he would have some gourmet cooking skills !
ReplyDeleteWhen Clara started talking about string I thought it was related to the red string of faith(fate?) myth.
ReplyDeleteJust because of the Emile parts this is my favorite chapters. I am in love with his character and he can read boring lectures to me any day.
ReplyDeleteIs Rose's fear of crowd's relevant to anything ?
I think we all love Emile because he is constantly warm and caring but, with Fierro he is caring but it comes off very stoic and cold.
ReplyDeleteI guess we (or I anyway) are used to your little tantrums of anger. Also I haven't heard you apologize in the like 12 years I have known you.
ReplyDeleteI love the read more feature. It will be interesting if you use it to hide something super secret behind it.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why Victor has waited so long to come after her. Did he need to get stronger. This is kind of like Harry Potter where the enemy just won't die !
ReplyDelete^^
ReplyDeleteWell, they need to figure out how to kill a spectre. SOmething I am sure Emile could do if he researched enough like in LL.
Or they need to figure out how to make Spectre's live in peace.
Whaaat ! Clara has a Birkin ! I am soo jealous, I love that detail it reminds about the background she comes from.
ReplyDeleteWhat is missing in chapter 2 ?? Is it like in the story or a narrative thing ? I have no clue.
ReplyDeleteRe-reading chapter 2 I notice a huge difference in the 'voice' between Fierro and Clara, it's one of my favorite things about you LiLe. The story would never be as good if it was just from one POV.
ReplyDeleteI just want to hear that medieval torture joke because from what I understand medieval torture was sick !
ReplyDelete
ReplyDelete@ Shawna - It is one of the default ones for the new Blogger Editor

@ Princess_A - no, he can't cook
@ Lauren - oh, hmmm
@ sugarcookie - is it ?
@ boston_girl - perfect
@ Lia - I'll experiment with that
@ Hpgirl - There is a reason
@ strawberry_margarita - that was the point.
@ Blondie & Ashlyn - okay, I'll give it away . . . Mr. Fierro's name is never mentioned in chapter 2
I actually like the Josh Groban song--his voice is amazing. I think if you used it in HoF I may have cried . . . no srsly, ClaraxFierro all I can think about now when I hear that song.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDelete@ Rei - For some reason medieval torture was a "running joke" I put in HOF and I think LL and for some reason I kept including it.
^^
ReplyDeleteI like it to but, it sounds too much like a funeral song. I think Hey Ya is more hopeful and less used.
You're an amazing writer I am hooked on this story I may have to stop reading it till the end so I can read it like a novel.
ReplyDeleteI was just joking around about how much I love Fierro's character and there should always be more of him in a chapter.
ReplyDeleteOh, I thought you had caught on to the fact that I didn't use his name and you meant to put Fierro is quotes.
ReplyDelete^ @ Harper
