I've been away

I can't believe I let it go this long without posting a blog post. Chapter 9 was pretty short and I'm not all together sure if there was something else I could have added to it. I try to make my chapters 5,000 words long and that one was around 3,500. I think the longest one was chapter 6 at almost 7,000.

Numbers aside I do have a 5,000+ word update for you and a few changes. I decided to only put +number+ when there is music associated with the chapter and the numbers don't start over.

I

+1+ Beautiful Disater - Jon Mclaughlin

+2+ To Build a Home - Cinematic Orchestra
II

+3+
Slow Dancing in a Burning Room - John Mayer

III

+4+ Human - Jon Mclauglin (This is my song !)

I know lots' of Jon & John !

Here it is :

  1. Ahhh an update I love it and I love the John/Jon's !

I can't wait to see what happens next. For some reason Ms. Austin became a really vivid character for me in this chapter.

  2. For a minute there I thought you stole my Beautiful Mess by Jason Mraz because it looks like Beautiful Disaster.

It was really good to hear from you. I love how you are putting pictures in the end. Was the scene inspired by the picture or did the picture happen to go really well with the scene.

    I love Masala Chai !

  3. I'm confused but, is the baby really Adams or did Sofia spermjack Tomas ? Or are we not supposed to know.

  4. When I saw the train I thought Sofia was going to see Adam. I wonder if the fact that you brought up Tomas's other potential love interest means anything ?

  5. What with all this talk of things Tomas did and connections Tomas has from the convention among other things I'm starting to think Tomas is supposed to be a closet case.

    Maybe it's just me.

Loved this chapter don't leave us hanging for so long.

  6. It's weird but, I feel like you have used To Build a Home before, maybe you just used the same artist ?

  7. I totally squee'd over the wedding scene, it's funny how different the two weddings are. I wonder why Emma wasn't there ? Will we ever know more about the two friends of Tomas's ?

I also kind of think Severine could have atleast come to the wedding.

  8. I have always wanted Tomas and Sofia to have a baby for no other reason but to see what they would name him/her.

With such perfect names and spelling like Tomas and Sofia . . . I guess it puts you the writer under pressure.

  9. ^^
As long as it's not Renessme, Linda should be good !

I am going to the library to check out JA's Emma just because I wonder if it has anything to do with Tomas's Friend being names Emma.

  10. Emma works at Starbucks FTW ! Do her co-workers think Tomas is her baby daddy and that's why they look at him funny.

  11. OMG, I am in love with Jon's Human now, it is so beautiful and perfect and I usually hate him.

Is their a chance it is a make-up song ???

  12. This chapter is holding me on edge, I am so freakin addicted I love everything about this, I think you are the 21st century's answer to Jane Austen.

OT, I never knew people had grey eyes in real life but, my Mom was watching the Amazing Race the other night and one of the girl contestants has grey eyes

  13. ^^
Her name is Mika and her eyes are soooooo pretty but, I don't know if they are gray or not.

I am in love with the way you write Linda, something about the style where you just go into the scenes.

  14. "This would have worked a lot better if she wasn’t in the car."

For some reason this line made me laugh I think Tomas especially has these human moments that are just incredible. He is attempting to do something dramatic but then has to stop or can't go through with it.

  15. I bought one of those new Kindle things and I have been doing a lot of reading (being on vacation and all) and I am becoming one of those people who wants to find meaning in everything authors (especially you) write.

So, with that preface I have to ask does the last scene and Tomas's relationship with religion have anything to do with these lines :

I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it.

have you ever found God in a church? I never did. I just found a bunch of folks hoping for him to show. Any God I evr felt in church I brought in with me. And I think all the other folks did too. They come to church to share God, not find God.

    From the Color Purple ?

  16. I am totally inflamed at Tomas right now. I have tried to remain neutral but, I think he is poison to Sofia and comes of as somewhat charming but, in this chapter I had to hate him.

I can't believe he almost hit Sofia, I know some will want to give him points for not doing it and obviously he has been conditioned by coming from a past of abuse but, this really pissed me off.

The fact that he was talking to Derek. Enough said. That fact just made me lose all respect for him.

I could go on and on, I'm not sure if anything will happen to make me change my mind but, at this point I am waiting for Adam to show back up or for Sofia to go back to her foster family for support.

I usually have something more analytical to say but, I'm done ranting for the day

    *sneaks off back to work*

  17. Sofia would not fare well in a Baptist college, lol! They tend to have a lot of conservative rules and codes.

    I lasted about 3 months.

  18. I love to see an update for no other reason but for your awesome music. I ususally ignore these songs but you put them in a context that makes me love them !

  19. I cannot for the life of me decode the wildflower line. Does it have something to do with life moving too fast ?

    ReplyDelete
  20. The fact that they both started talking at the same time during the wedding was A-D-O-R-Able ! Seeing the contrast from all that love to all that hate and distrust is interesting,

    ReplyDelete
  21. The plot thickens ! I am going to have to just start skipping to the endings. I can't decide if it's selfish or stupid that Tomas doesn't believe Sofia would cheat on him.

Why does Tomas have plastic on his chest ?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I would have loved to see Sofia fight Ms. Austen I hate her !

    ReplyDelete
  23. When was Sofia trying to tell Tomas she was pregnant ? I can't wait to see what happens next, even though I am worried.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It shouldn't be about the amount of words you write, it's the impact we truly appreciate ! Are all of Sofia's outfits from your own head or are they inspired by something?

    ReplyDelete
  25. OMG, is their really a "virgin test" ? I mean how can you tell anyway and didn't Sofia sleep with Adam ?

If this is what you have to do to get an anullment then I am done looking for a man at Catholicsingles.com

  26. This update was totally worth the wait. You tricked me again because I totally though Sofia had HIV.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I loved Tomas's vows (Sofia kind of phones it in,lol) are those from a real wedding ? I totally want to steal them.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I hope they find Tomas's mom I think it is sweet how close they are. I would freak out if I haven't heard from my mom in nearly a year.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Does Tomas's mother have a first name ? I don't remember it ever being mentioned.

    ReplyDelete

  30. @ July - I love the J/J's too !

@ Shawna - No, I didn't steal that song. . . yet, JK. I love chai too. I'll talk more about the pictures later

@ Mrs.JohnDorian - No, she told Tomas the truth, she paid someone (there is a discussion board somewhere about women who pay men who are at sperm banks, I wish I could find the link). Tomas can't have children because he is HIV +

    @ Ashlyn - I don't consider Emma a love interste

    @ Wilson - Maybe, I can kind've see that

    @ Appletini - I don't think I did.

@ June - Emma wasn't there becuase she was still mad at Tomas for propsing to her and putting her in that postion. Severine is very attached to her mother.

@ Tabbi - Oh, not really

    @ Hpgirl - It doesn't

@ Rita - Yes. I knew from the begining that Emma would be a Starbucks manager. That's why when Tomas visits her the first time she gives him Coffee

@ Cherry - I don't know but I love that song almost more that "So Close"

@ Lori - I'll have to check that out.

    @ Nygirl - I'm setting my DVR

    @ Jason - Thanks, Honey

@ Joseph - First, You have been on vacation for what feels like months and second I can see the connection.

@ Violeta - I was waiting for someone to get inflamed and he shouldn't have attempted to hit her.

    @ Paige - Oh, really ?

    @ Decaf - Oh, thanks.

@ Heidi - No, I'll explain in later when I have more room, so to speak.

    @ Penni - I know, right.

@ Bella - I think it's selfish but also a little demeaning. The plastic was a Condom in Sofia's hand.

@ Brielle - Your name is pretty and everyone loves a catfight.

@ Strawberry - Shew was going to tell him at the hospital but her told her about the annulment first.

@ Jill - Most of them are from my own head, if not I'd tell you

@ Marueen - I don't want to speak for all Catholics but some believe they can tell based on the average size of a woman's uterus, which generally changes after orgasm.

@ Lynn - I sound like Shawna but I almost tricked myself.

@ Carena - Yes and No

@ Trich - OMG, me too.

@ P_ariel - I see what do did there with your name. His mother's name is Rose.

Thank you all I promise I won't keep you waiting long.

  31. I feel like Linda has a name picked out . . .

  32. @ Linda-- I meant for you to read vacation as getting sued out of my ass.

  33. @ Joseph - I'm sure your lawyers are handling all that why you lounge around at home drinking your mother-in-law's famous Limocello recipe, but I don't know.

  34. I ocassionally read my own hate mail and if it's vicious enough I tend to write lengthy responses.

And I assure you, Ms.Leigh I do not drink Lemon cello's I don't even know what's in one. Now, a margarita or gin and tonic on the other hand . . .

I'm also not married. It's like you don't read my blog.

    (:

    ReplyDelete
  35. @ Joseph - No, I don't read your blog and I suppose if you were smart you would know a Limoncello is a drink in its self. I forget your not married you seem like the kind of man who needs to be . . . controlled ? I don't know.
