Yours Truly, Emile - LL Novella

Final Thoughts On Mercy

I'm still open to doing a Q&C sequel I've been doing some rereads and I think the first few chapters of QC and the ending are very solid. I want to dive back into the gritty fantasy political thriller. I think the plot has to be a BIG epic. IDK how to do that.

Also SHV in the comments you mentioned that Rhett and Leon are very similar. Maybe you could try getting Human!Leon and Rhett in to the same room. They are both military men with a ton of daughters whose partners escaped cults.

Hello, Emile

A few years ago I wrote a  self-indulgent story called Sincerely, Emile  about what Emile was up to in the background of the story. At the time I thought I was done with Litany Lane so I packed it with everything but no there there.

This is a sequel. Here is a recap of Emile :

In 2005 Emile died protecting his partner from a break-in. He arrives in Litany Lane but takes residence in The Shangri-La, a residential hotel that is a 24/7 party. There he meets people who want to become Spectres and he writes and publishes a book telling their stories.

It's big flop

Fierro, whose wife has recently become a Spectre, discovers the book and enlist Emile to help him write a fictional book that is an allegory for the dangers of becoming a Spectre. Emile moves in with Fierro to finish his book

Over a year later Clara DeLune shows up--hijinks ensue--and Emile finds himself back in 2005

In 2007 the trio reunite. 6 months later Ghost!Lucie holds them captive in Fierro's house. Fierro is left for dead but Emile saves him and brings him to his house.

Ghost!Lucie begins to haunt and torture Emile's neighbors. Fierro decides to  head off across the ocean and take his ghost with him.

Soon after Emile learns Clara is pregnant and becomes an Uncle and Godfather to her daughter. He keeps Rose a secret from Fierro because he is afraid of what Lucie will do. Fierro and Emile's friendship hits a rough patch once the truth comes out.

About a year after Fierro and Clara  move to Europe--Emile follows and moves to London where he begins a 6-year relationship with Rodger, A socialist and fellow academic.

Rodger has a hard time understanding Emile's relationship to Clara and Fierro. He feels Emile will put them before any family they may have. Eventually Emile and Rodger buy a townhomes together. They have a bitter disagreement when Rodger takes money he feels Clara owes Emile after a failed trip to Disney. Rodger and Emile break up leaving Emile stuck with a townhome he doesn't want anymore.

Emile is inspired by the events of Pretty Little Things and decides to write a historical non-fiction book about  Chateau Mericer and Victor Bordeaux's murder spree.

At the end of PLT he moves into Chateau Mercier with Clara and Fierro.

Shortly after moving in Emile joins a writing group where he meets Leif Thorensen, a super hot 38 year-old Ghanaian-Norwegian former manager editor.

Leif meeting Emile wasn't an accident. Leif was also a former resident of Litany Lane. He read Emile's book in Nightfall and when he discovered Emile was in this world-- he made an effort to  find him. Leif isn't to keen to tell how he found his way back. ..

I originally came up with Leif because I wanted Emile to have a smart sexy hot guy in his life who knew his secrets. I think Leif maybe sticking around as a supporting character...

Yours Truly Emile

Emile's book on Victor Bordeaux, The Mad Heir, has debuted and now he's on tour ! His next stop is Wiltonshire, England---which isn't to far from Fierro's second home at Worthington College.

This takes place a few nebulous months after PLT so Emile is 46, about to turn 47 and Fierro is 37.
