I could totally see myself doing another installment of Pink Neon. Maybe something related to the holidays or about Sera's time in Florida. Stay turned.

There was a few comments about Sera's various jobs and how exactly they work. I originally made Sera a Domme as a joke in the novella that spawned this story-- because it's just the kind of unfortunate joke that is made when you have a beta male and a female-presenting person with a strong personality.
When I decided to write an All Human AU...I had to give this some thought.
Sera works as a Domme for hire. Clients pay her to practice bondage, discipline, S&M --and any other non-intercourse kinky activity on them. She does this either in New Aeterna or by visiting clients in their homes with a travel case of 'supplies'. She would classify herself as a sex worker performing legal sex work. While managing her career, Paris learns abut how few protections and resources sex workers (legal and illegal) have. This is why sex work rights and reform is his biggest political platform
Now, if Sera wants to participate in BDSM activities and include a sex/penetration (Much like with Tara and Preston) she has to do it on her own time and legally she's can't accept money for it. Trust and consent are BIG in these communities. I think this is why there was backlash to 50 Shades. The idea of Anastasia signing a contract and not knowing what for is blasphemous IRL.
Does Sera maybe blur lines when she shouldn't ? Yes. In my head she has accepted paid offers for acts that aren't exactly legal. Particularly if she has a good relationship with the person.
Sera/paris
Sera and Paris' relationship is a D/s relationship. Where one partner is actively dominant over the other. It can be done as quick roleplay or as relationship dynamic. This type of relationship can take on many forms. I think this article is a good outline
Sera is into subservient men which is why in AYC and HLN she mentions liking Downton Abbey and has fantasies about dominating a lawyer hired to work for her. Paris goes along with it because he craves structure in a relationship. Structure is what helped him preserve during his teen years and why he is so successful in academia.
D/s also works for Sera because she has never had control of her own life. She went from a cult to the military to marrying a man whose academic career and education limited what she could do and where she could live.
HLN 2
Sera makes more bad choices. After a fun night ends abruptly-- Sera decides to go on a little road trip to cause more trouble.
Quick reminder-- Paris is finishing up law school uptown, Sera's condo (and New Aeterna) are downtown. . Because of this they are living a part and Paris goes to visit Sera 3 days a week.
