What's In A name
I feel like I've been wishy-washy and I've been going back and forth on an name for the serial nicknamed Aren't You Cold.
Well, it seems like the name Aren't You Cold has a soft spot in the comments. So ... I will official call this serial Aren't You Cold. I know it doesn't roll off the tongue and this line means literally nothing. It's just the first line of the serial...but it does say something about the character.
Because of this I'm re-naming the prequel novella that inspired this. It was called School House Rumble ( I wanted a cute anime name) but it's now called You Have a Destiny which is the first line of that serial.
Spiritual Successor
Much like Little Rebellions and the New Aeterna Verse--AYC is one of those indulgent things I'm doing for me. As a result I'm going to ...talk about it . Consider it pre-workshopping. I guess the Reacher in me wants to have the ENTIRE serial drafted before posting, but the Realist knows I should write an outline and find a part where I can take a break.
I was re-reading random blog post looking for inspiration (I just pick random post with interesting titles). when I came across the post for Nightfall Academy. Night Fall Academy inspired School House Rumble (You Have A Destiny) the Lux Aeterna!High School serial that AYC is based on.
I did a re-read of Nightfall Academy and in a way AYC is a spiritual successor to this serial in that Human!Fierro and Human!Paris have a lot in common. They are hardworking, earnest and smart men who are feminist and totally respect women. While Nightfall Academy was sweet and fluffy...Cold traffics more in acerbic self-deprecating humor and wit.
Muse : Also, like those stories have the same plot. High schoolers with different social standings have a chance encounter and show up married to a class reunion. One part of the couple is is bright dark-haired optimist paired with a a quiet angsty blue-eyed person.
Lils ; NO IT'S NOT...Clara and Fierro aren't married at the end of Nightfall Academy. Also Sera was originally inspired by me wanting to right a female Fierro like character so they are supposed to be similar.
P.S I did an awful job answering comments in that post. I did like presenting something inspirational, positive and fluffy. Thanks for the idea SHV 🥰
Rogue Recap, Chapter Eight
Sera, Leon and Paris have been captured by Helios. He is heading a new militia "The Legion" made of humans and Angels ready to retake New Aeterna. He wants Seraphina on his side as his assasain but it takes a fair amount of blackmailing Leon's family to get her to comply. After a successful hit is carried out on the retired cartel leader who owns Helios compound, dynamics are beginning to shift. Now Helios is ready to carry out his big plan....assassinate Edwin Bless. Good thing Leon is just the man to help...
