Little Rebellions
I'm not sure how this novella came across. I wrote the throwaway line about the Angels and Helions being in arranged marriages and during the picnic scene in QC I just had this spark of an idea of what it would be like inside the Helion Regime. It sort of spilled out of me and I kept wanting to turn away from it because it seemed so. . . dark. Especially when Liberation had such an amazing home birh scene and the one in Little Rebellions is used to "horrify" Adonis into realizing how terrible the regime is.
I think I was sort of entranced by a female character with no agency doing little tiny things to rebel. Also I feel like I never got to display just how messed up Helios ideas are on gender.
