Cobaltians !
As everyone in Southern California probably knows by now Cobalt has been going through some big little changes which have not really effected me that much since I live at home. It has been nice seeing the "company" get back to it's roots.
It was nice meeting the new East Coast Cobalt family in Philadelphia, unfortunately we won't be asking them to downsize, Consider Pacific Hills the "suburban" campus of Cobalt.
August
Notes on August. I started having these disjointed thoughts about the characters and came up with 6 standalone ideas even before I finished Litany Lane. I'm content with the two I've posed (Trivia : The Storm was actually intended to be and written first)
All of that is to say that there has been a sequel stewing. I know I know I didn't see it coming either but I picked up hints in LL and it is very different.
Different How ?
I'm finding that the sequel will mess with a concept I used in S&A in chapter 17. The idea of telling a story out of order. I have about 13 (2 that were meant for August) chunks that go in no order (some make no sense at all) and still need some glue. . . this should be very interesting. I should also stop watching Supernatural reruns.

Mr & Ms : Meta Answer
So some of you commented on why the characters still call each other Mr. Fierro and Ms. DeLune. I think character-wise they are just used to it and although it wasn't intentional it does come off almost like a Jane Austen novel (Joel, has copies in his office. I skimmed).
Update
This next story sets up for one of the concepts (it's really obvious) in "The New Project" and is based on a picture that has been sitting on my desktop for a while. !
Crossed Paths
Passing Time - Paul Cardall

You do so much with so little. I love it I really do ! I can't wait to see what happens next.
ReplyDeleteMore LL is always good ! But, I have a feeling Clara won't be in it ):
ReplyDeleteI was thinking something epic might happen with Roger and Lucy being in the same place. I can't believe Roger gets away with lies about Mr. F's death.
ReplyDelete^^
ReplyDeleteI'm sure If any of these characters moved to New York City, I imagine Benson and Stabler would crack this case.
I love me some some Sam&Dean ! Its the only good thing left on the CW. Was Supernatural a big influence for this ?
ReplyDeleteWe've missed you Linda. When were you in my office ?
ReplyDelete@Topaz- What about One Tree Hill ?
^
ReplyDeleteI like One Tree Hill, they are bringing the redheaded girl back, now that is change we can believe in.
P.S I love how you are all blogging about Cobalt. Keep it up
^
ReplyDeleteJust an aside Jill, the red headed girl is the bitch. . . . not that I watch that show.
"You may stop looking at me like that"
ReplyDeleteThis line was so Mr.Fierro. I actually like getting his perspective it really humanizes him more.
Will the new story be focused more on Mr. Fierro finding his parents ? I want to see more intimate action between Mr.F and Clara they seem so, distant in a way.
ReplyDeleteI have a few more comments. There is an odd (very vauge, a bit meta) connection between August and my newest project. I did not realize it unitl now.
ReplyDeleteAlso, You do so great with the graphic, mine look so simple in comparison ! It's hard not having a graphics department anymore
Does Clara's grandfather have Alzheimer's ? For some reason I imagined he'd be a mean drunk old man.
ReplyDeleteAwwww those dogs are so super adorable ! Do you have those kinds of dog ?
ReplyDeleteAm I crazy for seeing symbolism between the dogs and Mr. Fierro. It's just odd he treats the dog like a family, which is uncommon for dogs. I thought at first it was Clara being whismical.
ReplyDeleteAnd if puppies are born in litters where are the others ?
Are the dogs from a disjointed family like Mr. F ?
That dog was also strangely obedient. Does that mean something.
ReplyDeleteI feel like House of Fierro will be about Mr.Fierro, like maybe LL from Mr.Fierro's perspective ?
So, Roger lived near the Fierro's the whole time ? If Clara ever walked near the woods she could have seen the grave and figured out Fierro's secret a lot earlier.
ReplyDeleteIs their a reason Lucy went to college ? It doesn't seem like something that was common in the 50s.
ReplyDeleteIn your head does Mr. Fierro still dress the way he did in LL ? I can't imagine him treeking in the woods wearing dress shoes.
ReplyDeleteI would think by the very fact the Mr. F has a family of dogs would be a hint that he isn't an animal killer. I think he took the dogs in like his Aunt and Uncle took him in.
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling "The Storm" came first. It is still my favorite because it was a little spine chilling.
ReplyDeleteI didn't get the concept for House of Fierro fromt this. Will it be about Roger and Mr. F ?
ReplyDeleteI've just thought of something. Mr. F hasn't had to eat for 50 years. I wonder if it is an adjustment ?
ReplyDelete@ Shawna - Thank You Honey
ReplyDelete@ July - Really ?
@ June - That is unfair
@ Erik - I've had dreams like this
@ Topaz - No, not for this
@ Joel - um . . .
@ Jill - Wow
@ Eirk - ?
@ Ashlyn - I was hoping for that
@ Illia - Yes and No to both
@ Shawna - Try asking a niece. Hmm so is this new Project a series of short stories ?
@ Rei - Yes, he does. Roger's attitude will come in later.
@ Trichille - No dogs in my household
@ Violeta - A lot of this is very true, I'm sure he sold the other dogs.
@ Hiedi - No, it will be a different storyline
@ Princess A. - She would have which is why in the end of LL she knows where she and Emile are going.
@ Quinn - She wanted to be a teacher, as you can imagine she was in debt.
@ Sam - he wears three piece suits most of the time.
@ Nina - Yeah, I can see this
@ sugarcookie - I was planning on posting it first.
@ Appletini - The concept is Mr. Fierro's POV
@ Tori - This will come up.
Thanks everyone !
