Hello Everyone
I was not very happy with the comments from the last post and with reason.
I know a lot of people know (or think they know) who I am so I won't go into immense detail but to say that writing has been like free prozac for me.
I'm not having the best year so far and being able to connect with strangers (although I hate calling you that) has been wonderful. I was always a very imaginative and creative child and it wasn't until I graduated college that I've let my creative side take a back seat.
Long story short, a few weeks ago I was offered a part-time job as a Adjunct Professor. Once I was cleared by my doctors to work, I spoke with some new writers at Cobalt and choose one of them to fill in as Linda Leigh.
She agreed to write something original for LiLe while I --in essence-- quit.
Clearly it didn't pan out to well.
What does this mean ?
At first it didn't mean anything, then I started reading comments. . . oh, the comments, and you know what. . . I missed you all, and while I was typing up a syllabus and listening to my Ipod i felt like something was missing, and I knew the job wasn't for me.
No big deal right ?
Wrong, the truth is I'm an ambitious person. I want nothing more than to help people, but I do have a large family and I want the best for them. I'll probably spend the next 5 years as a SAHM and typing away. Does that mean I'll give up my carrer ? Hell No.
What does it mean ?
It means I get down on my knees and beg for you all to forgive me and if that doesn't work I have gifts.
Lastly I really want to say how nice this has been for me and as much as I hate to say it I wouldn't be here if I wasn't trying to one-up Joel, so thanks honey.

While dealing with the above mess, I forgot to post a few things about Litany Lane
- Oheka Chapel is based on Oheka Castle in upstate NY (K. Jonas was married there). I changed it becasue I wanted her to be able to see her Grandmother's grave from the church and Oheka Castle is a hotel.
- Clara's Cards in Chapter 9 may have had a tiny significance

Litany Lane
So, no I'm not done with Litany Lane just yet. It was originally set up to be a vignette series in which Fierro and Clara don't leave Litany Lane, but when I decided to take them out in the end I was planning on making Dec-Mar. a vignette..
But that didn't seem progressive enough for me do I'm trying my hand at what I call (I did research) Louis Vuiton Realism, think Kmart Realism with rich people. They don't have to be read in order but there is a slight chronology to them.
August
In June I'd managed to die and comeback, totaled my car and survived a minor concussion with 4 broken bones, and moved in with my parents. In July I broke off a 400,000 dollar wedding only now be haunted by my family's past, both wanted and unwanted. With 31 days left in summer vacation and my older sisters wedding, August is going to be a long month.

It's funny, I knew something was up that was why I did not comment. I think writing is a great outlet and fun but, if you quit I will understand. I will cherish the memories

ReplyDeleteWow, Lucius used to be fwi-ine ! I am so glad your back too and I liked the short stories. I am really starting to love Mr.Fierro he is slightly badass.
ReplyDeleteI love everything Lile and I know that West Cove thing could have been better but, I'm not sure I believe it was written by someone else. I kind of have it in my mind you wrote it and made up a story.

Okay, I have teased Lile about this not being horror but, the second vignette kind of scared the crap out of me. It was so creepy.

I noticed a faint red line on my hand where Mr. Fierro had touched me; he suddenly noticed a dot of deep red blood on his finger.
I'm not sure what this part means. Why does she have a red line on her hand ?
Wait a second is there a plot that will be overarching because from these lines :

Wow, Martin has his daughters well trained. He is kind of a douchebag but, I have sympathy because his parents are murderers.

I was freaked out by The Storm too. When the candle hit the ground but she didn't here it I was like WTF ?

ReplyDeleteClara came off as really pathetic to me, I thought she would be stronger but she is all doing what her father says and she keeps saying "I'm scared". I would think Mr. F would not let her be so weak.

ReplyDeleteI always suspected Mr.Fierro never really loved Clara but still loves her grandma. If he really loved her he would make her tell her family. After all Mr. F does not have family and could use some.
