So I thought I would blog about he happenings at Cobalt. After a much needed petition the Denim Cafe now serves 45% organic options which of course means you will have to pay 45% more if anyone wants to stop by for lunch !
I havn't been spending much time there lately so that's all I can offer Cobalt wise. I think I just woke up and realized that for the most part I'm a Stay-at-home mom who spends 5-9 hours a day on the internet (wonderful hours, of course working for you all) and it's helped me reconnect with music which was a huge part of my adolescence.
It's not that I have an issue with any of this, I suppose I feel like I should redifine the sterotype ? Maybe I should give Stephenie Meyer a call.

Once again I'm amazed at how quickly you guys pick up on things. . . I have to be more sneaky !
Character's Speech
So, I was not sure if I was going to get into this but often the characters use certain phrases that given the envioremtn might seem a little off, but if I didn't use them I don't think their voices would come across as realistic. Phrases such as "Oh, My God" "You nearly gave me a heart attack". Please don't read too much into this though.

Somehow I went from outlining the rest of the chapterts for LL to, for the most part, finishing all the chapters.. . I had pretty much finished it for a while I usually use comments and opinions to improve clarity so of course I enjoy your opinions. Right now the word counts stands at about 30425 and according to my collegues have passed the short story arena.

There were a lot of mirrors in this chapter. Is their any meanings of the mirrors that goes beyond just this chapter ?
ReplyDeleteI did notice people were finding catching on to things all over the place last chapter. I think it's because you let us in on all the foreshadowing in S&A.

I never totally hated Mr.Fierro until this chapter, he really is a monster. I can't think of a good excuse for what he did even though I think Clara is a bit to attached to the piano.

ReplyDeleteFor some reason Victoria comes off as mean to me, maybe a little bossy I can't really get a feel on her.
Why does Clara wear flip flops all the time ? It seems a little impractical to do housework and gardening in them.

First off, this story is awesome and I liked this chapter. But, I'm a bit confused on a few things and maybe I'm just stupid but :

2. Why do they get in the shower fully dressed or is a shower room different than an actual shower.
What were those two doors Clara heard slamming ? I was a bit confused on that or does it mean something ?

I have been a big fan for a while but, I honestly have to say I think being a stay at home mother or wife is just an excuse for women not to do anything and still pretend they have worth.

I have to say I am a SAHM and have several degrees and consider myself very smart but of all the jobs I had being a SAHM is the one I liked the best. For a year I was just a Stay at home wife and I felt like I had a lot of worth.
ReplyDeleteIn a way being a SAHM has given me time (but not much) to learn more and read more. I am even inspired to write but I'm nowhere near as good.

It seems very political how Victor treats Fierro so kindly by letting him have a place to stay and all even though they seem to be perfect enemies.

There is a lot of mentions of Mr.Fierro's skin. I think that adds to his monstorous appearance but, I think he really is a monster to Clara and for no good reason.

@ Marie - I have a tendency to make characters look retrospectively at their life choices to determine how they got somewhere. I think we all do it especially when something bad happens (I can tell you), Sofia does something similar to justify taking drugs in Spirits.
