This Thing Sort Of Happened

So, I've been ambling along with Bellum, doing a bit of part one here a bit of part two there.Working a bit on part three. Writing things I think are interesting. Coming through snippets. Trying to force this thing together.

There I was pulling together fragments when in my head I  started filling in completed fragments with chapter numbers while tying plot points together. I had a moment where I was like. . .THIS IS COMPLETE. THIS IS A WHOLE SECTION. HOW ??? A WHOLE 12 CHAPTERS ??

Now, a fair amount of these 12 chapters still need to be dusted off but that shouldn't take to long. So much so that I'm ready to post the first few chapters !

What To Expect

Let me tell you. . . this is going to be a lesson in the late years of Lile, were she derives the heck out of Shawna Harriosn-Vance. I've already said there will be  Blessed Heart  homage scence but there a few Vice-inspiration  slipped in as well..I found myself saying that Paris has a few "Alan Gray" moments.

Now, this is an experiment in me working three-ish storylines. I'm open to moving one around if it get to complicated to follow but we shall see. So because I'm a giant hype machine. Here is everything I've said about Bellum ever.

After The First 

I see the sequel as being more of a political backroom, romance, espionage, sequel dealing with a cold war between The Angels, The Demons and maybe the daemons. With maybe a bit of teen romance on the side (i e Ariel is going to show up . . . maybe ?).

Since I pretty much have nothing else to join me in the trenches I've been thinking a lot about Bellum and all  I'm getting is scenes, characters and possible endings but no. . . well. . . plot.

I had lost all hope for this mess of words but I found some great picspiations ! I see this story  as having 1 major storyline and two small side stories happening at once. No, Eric does not get a storyline but he gets what I think is a pretty big part.

Mini Bellum Update
So, SV is going to get co-cred on this because I literally take a lot inspy from United Light, Blessed Hearts and Veritas . Obviously this was very inspired by BH so much so that there is a (obvious)  homage scene.

May

Bellum is going. Chapters 1-4 are done. I found a song to make a bridge chapter I needed and part two needs like 6 more chapters and Part three is probably going to be a fall thing.

The thing is I don't have an outline, I just in general know what needs to happen and what has to happen to motivate the characters to to what they are going to do in later chapters. I should write it down but it doesn't work for me.

Bellum

Recap. . .

On either side of modern New York City lives an ancient race of what have become known as Angels and Demons. Relations are tense between the races since the bloody war, intense gendercide and exodus from their country.

When Paris Prince the hesitant but eager Prince is thrust into leading his  people he finds himself caught up in a string of murders that could point back and possible reveal the Demons and Angels. With the help of a curious college girl and a resentful Angel he looks for answered.

He soon discovers that the deaths aren't just a coincidence, they are the failed experiments of one of his own. Isaiah. Isiah has created an army of  demon-angel-human hybrids who quickly develop a lust for daemon blood.

When the army is squashed and Isaiah goes missing, the few surviving daemons are rounded up and join Paris and his people.

Just when peace looks to be in the future, Paris opens the door to find a  male Angel at his door and this man is one of many and they haven't forgotten about the war.

Behind the scenes the pious Prince starts to fall in love with Isobel Charter. Their romance is almost cut short when Isobel is turned into a daemon, but Paris' heart is determined to make it work. After all Seraphina assures him Angels have a sense about true love and that Isobel is his true love.

The only problem ?

She lied.

Isobel Charter isn't fated to fall in love with Paris Prince. . . she is.

As tensions rise between the other-worldy races, Paris will fight not for what fate has decided but for the love he chooses.

Bellum

The prologue to Bellum takes place 18 months after the epilogue to Lux.

This is sort of an experiment for me. I want to show my hand a little and not keep everything under lock and key.

In reference to the title

I'm a little serious. I mean I might actually start making things disappear if I feel they need to hide back in the vault. Like this vault item, I feel I released Nameless a  little premature (shut up, Erik) just because it would not get out of my head.

This AU actually comes from an interesting place. During TDOLL I went searching for the alternate ending to LL, the one where the characters are back on Earth but have no memories of who they are.

It's raining and Clara and her fiancee (Peter)  duck inside a music shop where she sees a flash of white hair.

I could never find it, but I thought what if I went with a different concept ?  I had an idea of what Clara would be like and what she would be doing but I couldn't figure out how it would work.

SO I said F- it and just wrote what I thought would be entertaining. I just wrote what I wanted not carrying how slightly silly it was. Even though I do bring it down to Earth. I just had fun with it.

Then I slid into a turning point in the story and kind of petered out on the ending. There are some things related to HMLIS  in here, but I wrote this awhile ago.

I have 45 songs I didn't get to use . It's hard to believe when I started I only had 6 songs. The music-spiration was based on those love-encompassing top 40 songs that go from first meeting, love, break ups and tribulations. Some of the songs may get pulled into to Bellum's playlist. On American Fairytale

N:AF was. . . different. I came up with this idea of taking the Twilight formula to tell the story of the "Evil Queen". When I say Twilight forumule I mean the -- Teen moves to small town to live with estranged relative and meets paranormal love interest who they have some super special immunity against. Stop me if you've heard this. It was fun becuase I had a roadmap that I could fill in with my own ideas. It felt so right and open, starting this project felt like a new phase of LiLe

I wrote the first four chapters and the last two chapters almost all at once. I had been holdingo n tight to Dead In The Water and Seven Devils hoping they wouldn't become top 40 and taunt me ! Lucklily Elle Goulding had a bunch of other hits.

Anywho I'd been staring at the ending and the beginning for so long.

I liked these chapters and the characters, dialogue and stories. Yet, something about NAF seems so outside of the LiLe mindspace.  I had so much fun with this but for some reason  it distract me  with tiny plot bunnies, plot what-ifs or AU ideas like my other serials do.

I get these alot about my other serials (hince the Vault), for some reason I can't ever get myself to think about NAF in that way,  I only ever see these characters doing their story over and over again. I'm not sure what that means ?

 Maybe it's just a great stand alone serial ?  I'm just glad I got to explore the idea this was such a fun thing for me to do and get outside of cities.

I have a super general idea of what happens to April and Cillian in the future but I said I'd only tell if someone asked.

Okay, someone is going to ask so I'll spill

Of all the LiLe couples I see them being in it for the long haul and it being a lot of fun. I can maybe see a post-fight winning spontaneous visit to to a Vegas chapel somewhere in the future. I don't see Cillian making it to the UFC, but I think a part of his life will be working with troubled kids. As for April ? Maybe teaching  soccer moms how to work a pole.


Alex Meraz
So, get this. I wrote Cillian as a MMA fighter when I realized I needed to give the characters some intersest.and as you know I've had Meraz's picture for years. Well I recently found out that  Meraz was in a few MMA films and does MMA himeself. I had no idea. I really wanted to explore that  more but I didn't like the characters leaving town to much.

Wings
I wrote the chapter with Penelope confronting Thantopsis and the Epilogue and all that 2 years ago.  So I had forgotten that the whole "wing-ripping" thing happens in BH. It made me want to tie the idea of losing wings to shame and degreaation like in BH so YAY !

Trust me in the future, LiL-ian scholars will call this period my derivative period. I swear SH will sue me for some of the stuff in Bellum

Music Throwback
What really made the last chapters flow was the music. A while ago someone bought up Jason Mraz and I looked him up. . . and I was like I wonder what S&A faves Sara Barilles and Jon McLaughlin are up to ?

Well it turns out they are making awesome music. . . together ! Sara B has not lost her groove at all,  I want to revisit more S&A songs and artist..

I think I rushed it even thought it  sorit fell out of me. I really shouldn't post something before I even have a title. I feel like Bellum has the feel of what I was going for and certainly the plot elemetnts I wanted. I think I finally have a grasp of what does and doesn't work.

 I know what you are thinking.

With that said I've  really looked at the world in Bellum and I'm doing all sorts of new things. I'm shaking off what didnt work from the first installment

Filing Chapter 11

I think this is from Too Fast Too Furious 2 : Tokyo Drift 3 . I  inspired part of chapter 10 on this gif.

So Chapter 11 is odd because I wrote it twice. I spent a lot of time editing the wrong version of it and let me tell you it gave me an appreciation for what it must be like to re-write drafts. At the end I might post it for a compare/contrast.

So. . . I don't have much to say. Nothing major has happened that I can blog about. . .  although I find myself hankering for a new idea to work with. HANKERING.

Once Upon A Time.. .

 

I"M ALIVE ?

First a prelude . . .

 As you all know Cobalt disintegrated a few months ago.  I always saw myself as separate from Cobalt for a long time but without it's been strange how untethered I feel in doing this. I found so much inspration and support from fellow Cobaltians.

I'm glad we are in a position where my family is taken care of but I'm happiest when my loved ones are happy. I have hope for the future and Cobalt will rise again.

I like endings. . . I really do.  I don't always believe in happy endings (just ask the characters) but I believe everyone get the ending they deserve.

Words to the wise, LiLe always gets what she wants. Always.

Once Upon A Time.. .

So, SH got to this before me and I tried to make my comment misleading.

I've been holding on and retooling this chapter for a long time and then it all sort of cinched up together.

I"m still working. . . very very slowly. I've had this post for so long I'm glad I already wrote the recap because I couldn't do it from this point.


APRIL'S STORY

Hmm, so I'm not sure if this was made apparent but Chapter 6 was for a long time entitled April's Story. Because, it is essentially April's back story. In the story April is the Princess and Peneople (whose name is actually in the story) is the changeling. The Light Fae in the story is Ty.

I sort of orbited around this story for a long time and the one thing I kept in the back of my mind was the orgin of the evil queen which is very similar to things like Maleficent and Frozen (Which I've seen 500 times !!) Hmmmm. . . I guess I'm ahead of the curve.

RECAP
Cillian O'Conner steps out of prison and in to the mountains of the Sierra Nevada He is all set to spend the summer wiorking for his estranged grandfather while trying to avoid the end of summer  in the sleepy town of Casade Falls.

The more time Cillian spends at Casca Falls the more nightmares he begins to have. H soon finds the culprit in all of this is a little Dark Fae named April, a Nigtmare Faeire.

This summer is a turning point for both of them but, April is planning something dark and Cillian is enlisted to find out the most powerful thing you can use against a Fae, her real name.

As time slowly winds down a newcomer to town reveals the one thing Cillian new all along. April doesn't need saving, they need saving from her.

The One With All The Lost Angels ! Roller Coaster of Angst.

So I am going to post the first and only chapters of ABWG. I posted chapter one in March 2011, but it never got off the ground.  We are going to go back forth between each chapter and this blog post.

The rest of chapter 2 was supposed to be

Mrs. Fenton takes Sofia to her trailer where she lives with her  kids. She  tries to convince Sofia that her husband didn't know what he was doing and that he was fine a few years ago but has become mentally ill and how losing him and going to court could leave them in poverty.

• Chapter 3 (read and comeback)

The rest plays out like this 

Sofia struggles with her feeling for Mrs. Fenton's situation  all while preparing for court. When the court day finally comes it is revealed that the other women testifying too do not exsisit. The paralegal made them up so Sofia would feel more confident.

Sofia freezes on the stand  and the judge lets her come back the next day. Feeling bad Severine takes her out. Tomas gets ill over the weekend and Sofia has to go to court on Monday. When she goes she is able to testify and Severine Fores Tomas out the hospital and brings him to the courthouse so he can support her.

Mini NAF Update
. I have been making so much progess with NAF. I can see where it is going and I will post the next chapter as soon as I'm done.  It's been so different than other serials in which it feels so solitary. I can only ever see these characters following this plotline.
