Chapter 7 Angel Eyes

I'm so sad. . . I wrote this entire post and then it got deleted ): Oh well.

Ariel
So when I first started working on Lux I had an idea about the little sister/big sister relationship between Ariel and Seraphina. I have no idea what came first, knowing I wanted to write about them or having Ariell's POV. Anyway, This is why in Chapter 5 of Lux Seraphina puts a blanket over Ariel and why in the first chapter Ariel covers for Seraphina while she's recovering from Isobel stabbing her (Yeah, that happened). Also when Sera is kidnapped Ariel is the only one who wants to help.

I horde a lot of inspiration images, now that I can make these handy image charts I'm going to be sharing a lot more of them.

Ariel 

Jennette and Arianna in this photo remind me a lot of Ariel and her friends the way they are overly made up and posing. Fashionista Katyure is still my favorite picspiration for Ariel. Although Ariel is a lot less sultry. The other two are just random hair-spirations.




Seraphina

I've said it a million times that Miranda Kerr on a fierce day with her blue eyes and brown hair are a lot like Seraphina. The image of this (other) model was one of my earlier inspirations.


Aria and Hippolyta
 I have an idea of how Aria looks in my head as having really small features and long straight hair. Kristin Kreurk in this photo is close to how I see her. Hippolyta's (who is a bottle blonde) picspiration, like before, is Amanda Seyfried.


Helios, Leon and Titus
A clean shaven Chris Hemsworth with his long hair reminds me of Helios. Leon is inspired by John Cena, the way he has a hulking form. Titus is supposed to be a younger expy of Helios I can see as being similar to Alex Pettyfer. I have no ages for these characters. I think Helios and Sera are probably the same "age". Leon is probably older but Titus is the youngest . . so yeah.



Chapter 7 

Callum is starting a resistance in Helios' backyard and after Paris and Isobel are captured almost killed by the Angels for trespassing,  they decide it's time to send Helios' a message by killing Seraphina. The question is can Paris do it ?

T-DOSHING

When I'm out looking for song-inspiration I generally just re-read and steal from SH (hince how that Jeremy Kay song ended up in Lux). Somehow I was on T-DOSH and found a line about the creation of the name Flagg Morton that had me spitting my wine out laughing.

I’m pretty sure I got the name Flagg from Kim Possible and Morton because I was writing about steak earlier.

Yeah, I went back that far.

Closer Look Picspirations - The Boys

 I threw up alot of character  inspirations at once, but want to get a closer look at picsiprations.

Paris' is still a young Cillian Murphy. . . he has the hair, giant innocent eyes and the general nice guy look to him.



Ashe, Jona and Lysander are all based on three guys who look pretty much the same

Lysander is based on The Original's Joseph Morgan. Ashe is sort of sexy and sarcastically serious  like Skarsgard's character Eric in True Blood.  Colton Hayens was my inspy for Jona plus he seems to have shaved his head so he looks more like him.

Damien is like before based on old school Christian Bale. Callum wasn't supposed to have a part beyond his mention in chapter 1, but after I saw this photo of Jake Maclaughlin I decided to give him a storyline.



About Chapter 5

Not much to say here. This chapter does raise the stakes and suddenly things are becoming life and death. We actually get to see how dangerous Helios can be.  I now see my writing out of order is backfiring becuase I wrote about Callum and his followers shaving their heads before I wrote the first part of this chapter and thus wrote myself into a tiny plothole

Fantasy Image Time !

 In Chapter 3  I mentioned the little gold gun Seraphina has is the one she used to kill Caden in chapter 5 of Lux. For my own entertainment I was sort of following ownership of this gun in Lux.

• First, it belongs to The Demon Father who gives it to Seraphina during their time together
• Then, after Seraphina shoots Caden, Paris takes it from her.
• Then when they are at the club, Paris gives it to Isobel to protect herself.
• Later Seraphina takes it back when Pariosbel can't re-load it
• Then when Isaiah kidnaps Seraphina he decides to take it..
• In the next chapter Isaiah shoots Isobel with that gun, causing her to become a daemon.
• In the next chapter he tries to shoot Isobel again, but Seraphina takes the bullets for her. Isaiah plans to shoot himself afterwards but he has run out of bullets.
• Finally just before Paris rescues Seraphina this happens

I take the gun and drop it on the Angel's chest.

“I believe that is yours”, I say

Because it's finally made it's way back to her. Inside joke. Nothing super important happens regarding this, just fyi.

The Angel & Demon
I did spoil the fact that there would be a small part of this serial that explored the idea of Homeland. Once I started trolling Fantasy Art , it was all over. So much inspiration.

The Angel
The Angel looks just like this first picture After I saw this image I based the entire character on the first  photo.  This Alexander McQueen dress fits the sort of puppet-esque qaulity of the Angel's dress and the nail extensions in the last picture are how I imagine her hands.


The Demon

For every etheral Fantasy photoshoot there is of a witch, druid or fae there is even less of one for men. I'm sure it's some gender imbalance on one side but I couldn't find a photograph as striking as I could for the angel. However I found a few artist renderings.

I don't love any of these, but they give a general idea.
RECAP

Helio want the Demons out of the city and as things continue to ramp up between Paris and Helios.  push has literally come to shove. Helios is going to have to find new ways to make Paris bow to his will.

Mother/Daughter LOVE !

 SV,  Hope and I are kind of in love with HMLIS and Corrine.  Her lines are just so perfect. I mean the opening of chapter 9 had me laughing so hard. I  swear we (cover your eyes, JB) just want to randomly walk around and say "jungle juice, motherfuckers" in a sing-song voice.

So, yes I troll forums and. . . .I'd like to blog on few things.

A. The GIF. Post I linked to was actually an old gif post from a few months ago.

The blog I'd been getting all my GIF-fu from is no longer updated so I'm searching for gifs.

B. So the timeline . . .

Funny story, I wrote the prologue to Bellum last year when I had no idea what the plot would be. And I made it snow because "rule of cool." However I never had a timeline and usually I have like a super strict one.  I mean dates and all.

All that is to say for other plotting reasons, the prologue takes place in October. I know I know it wouldn't be snowing in October, but go with me. . . please ( :

So this means that the rest of the story takes place in late August. . . so we are right on schedule !


C. Helio's looking different

I'm so glad someone caught on to this. Helios is taller and more elegantly muscled than his men. . Giving him a more traditionally attractive look.

I will stop trolling. . . not. It gives me blogging platforms for when I'm lazy

SGI!Seraphina - Inspiration

I modeled SGI!Seraphina after female fitness models. In Lux she was strong but didn't have the power behind her. After a year with the SGI, she has been worked out so hard she has changed her body to better fit in with the SGI. These images of Pro Fitness Model Louise Rogers are how I pictured her  body's physical appearance. Though I imagine her as being less thin.

Thanks alot JB, I answered so many comments I was too afraid to post this next chapter. However I wanted to give you all more of a glimpse into some of the new characters. I'm glad to get all the feedback, something tells me we are all going to get a little cray cray.

I was inspired by this color palette.  I'm still tweaking it. I just don't love it, so don't be alarmed by sudden changes.


Lile vs. Spotify

My playlist is kind of crazy. I've been making the mistake of creating "inspiration" (I still have some from Nightmare's inspiration list)  list instead of just starring songs. So when I try to add a new song the playlist I have so many playlist that they all don't show up. Just the first 7 playlist show up Anyone have any advice ?

I also parsed out a playlist for songs I've "used" so I can delete them from my inspiration list. I also have a list for music with no lyrics. It's just to much  !

For some reason I always imagine Isobel's date night dress looking like this. It's the most unimportant part of that entire chapter. Yet, I had a picspiration for it. Because Paris is a tailor he is fully allowed to know what a Peplum is.

This Thing Sort Of Happened

So, I've been ambling along with Bellum, doing a bit of part one here a bit of part two there.Working a bit on part three. Writing things I think are interesting. Coming through snippets. Trying to force this thing together.

There I was pulling together fragments when in my head I  started filling in completed fragments with chapter numbers while tying plot points together. I had a moment where I was like. . .THIS IS COMPLETE. THIS IS A WHOLE SECTION. HOW ??? A WHOLE 12 CHAPTERS ??

Now, a fair amount of these 12 chapters still need to be dusted off but that shouldn't take to long. So much so that I'm ready to post the first few chapters !

What To Expect

Let me tell you. . . this is going to be a lesson in the late years of Lile, were she derives the heck out of Shawna Harriosn-Vance. I've already said there will be  Blessed Heart  homage scence but there a few Vice-inspiration  slipped in as well..I found myself saying that Paris has a few "Alan Gray" moments.

Now, this is an experiment in me working three-ish storylines. I'm open to moving one around if it get to complicated to follow but we shall see. So because I'm a giant hype machine. Here is everything I've said about Bellum ever.

I see the sequel as being more of a political backroom, romance, espionage, sequel dealing with a cold war between The Angels, The Demons and maybe the daemons. With maybe a bit of teen romance on the side (i e Ariel is going to show up . . . maybe ?).

I had lost all hope for this mess of words but I found some great picspiations ! I see this story  as having 1 major storyline and two small side stories happening at once. No, Eric does not get a storyline but he gets what I think is a pretty big part.

Mini Bellum Update
So, SV is going to get co-cred on this because I literally take a lot inspy from United Light, Blessed Hearts and Veritas . Obviously this was very inspired by BH so much so that there is a (obvious)  homage scene.

May

Bellum is going. Chapters 1-4 are done. I found a song to make a bridge chapter I needed and part two needs like 6 more chapters and Part three is probably going to be a fall thing.

The thing is I don't have an outline, I just in general know what needs to happen and what has to happen to motivate the characters to to what they are going to do in later chapters. I should write it down but it doesn't work for me.

Bellum

Recap. . .

On either side of modern New York City lives an ancient race of what have become known as Angels and Demons. Relations are tense between the races since the bloody war, intense gendercide and exodus from their country.

When Paris Prince the hesitant but eager Prince is thrust into leading his  people he finds himself caught up in a string of murders that could point back and possible reveal the Demons and Angels. With the help of a curious college girl and a resentful Angel he looks for answered.

He soon discovers that the deaths aren't just a coincidence, they are the failed experiments of one of his own. Isaiah. Isiah has created an army of  demon-angel-human hybrids who quickly develop a lust for daemon blood.

When the army is squashed and Isaiah goes missing, the few surviving daemons are rounded up and join Paris and his people.

Just when peace looks to be in the future, Paris opens the door to find a  male Angel at his door and this man is one of many and they haven't forgotten about the war.

Behind the scenes the pious Prince starts to fall in love with Isobel Charter. Their romance is almost cut short when Isobel is turned into a daemon, but Paris' heart is determined to make it work. After all Seraphina assures him Angels have a sense about true love and that Isobel is his true love.

The only problem ?

She lied.

Isobel Charter isn't fated to fall in love with Paris Prince. . . she is.

As tensions rise between the other-worldy races, Paris will fight not for what fate has decided but for the love he chooses.

Bellum

The prologue to Bellum takes place 18 months after the epilogue to Lux.
