In one of the comments HPgirl asked me about whether someone in Nightfall could get married or pregnant. I thought about this for a while and while it is true Clara could get married. she could't get pregnant. I think, although I hate to touch on this, as far as this story goes they are only manifestations of themselves and their bodies are still on Earth.

The Olivers
In relation to HPgirls comment the Olivers are a married couple who met in Nightfall. They had a semi-story line in the begining. In which Emile (in chapter 2) explains how they came to Litany Lane in different decades but manage to get along.

Then another unintentional connection is that in Chapter 6 Sofia & Adam (oh, S&A hmm . . .) go see The Other Boleyn Girl which is about Anne and Mary Boleyn.
Natalie Dormier, plays Anne Boleyn in The Tudors which I have been using for inspiration to flesh out language details, in case you could not already tell.
I would have used her for a "Clara" inspiration but she is almost too pretty, at least when she isn't getting the life photoshopped out of her.

A little musical note on Chapter 8, Death Is The Road To Awe and The Moment I Said It can (in my mind) be interchanged. As a matter of fact it was written that way before I started using Imogen Heap . I think the both have the (here we go) a slow start, semi-climax, and then fizzle out.

So I thought I would blog about he happenings at Cobalt. After a much needed petition the Denim Cafe now serves 45% organic options which of course means you will have to pay 45% more if anyone wants to stop by for lunch !
I havn't been spending much time there lately so that's all I can offer Cobalt wise. I think I just woke up and realized that for the most part I'm a Stay-at-home mom who spends 5-9 hours a day on the internet (wonderful hours, of course working for you all) and it's helped me reconnect with music which was a huge part of my adolescence.
It's not that I have an issue with any of this, I suppose I feel like I should redifine the sterotype ? Maybe I should give Stephenie Meyer a call.

Once again I'm amazed at how quickly you guys pick up on things. . . I have to be more sneaky !
Character's Speech
So, I was not sure if I was going to get into this but often the characters use certain phrases that given the envioremtn might seem a little off, but if I didn't use them I don't think their voices would come across as realistic. Phrases such as "Oh, My God" "You nearly gave me a heart attack". Please don't read too much into this though.

Somehow I went from outlining the rest of the chapterts for LL to, for the most part, finishing all the chapters.. . I had pretty much finished it for a while I usually use comments and opinions to improve clarity so of course I enjoy your opinions. Right now the word counts stands at about 30425 and according to my collegues have passed the short story arena.

Nothing Rhymes with Seventy !
*Back from skiing !*
After deleting a few draft post I realized that this is post 70 ! This also means post 50 actually wasn't 50 (this one was ) but we'll let that pass.
Chapters 5&6
These chapters could have been merged but I wanted "the journey" to Bordeaux and Clara's death to stand on it's own.
The picture used for the pool in Chapter 6 is actually American. It's the Hearst Castle in California. Looks like a nice place to get married, Shawna *wink wink nudge nudge*. The Bordeaux castle is based on the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany mixed with the Melbourne skyline. Although I'm partial to any french Chateau like the one De Chambord
I'll admit to being a bit worried about using Rose by James Horner because it basically the theme but it's also the theme that plays (I believe) when they first introduce Rose.
Mr. Fierro's First Name
It's funny I think I mentioned that I wanted Mr. Fierro's first name to be like Mr. Darcy in Pride and the Prejudice (one of the only books I really enjoy , I've read all the versions !) whose first name (Fitzwilliam) is only mentioned twice.
The reason I bring this up because I abandoned the idea and more than hinted Mr. Fierro's first name in chapter 2. But since few people caught it and it was so small I decided to take it out for fun !

I should have made it a bit more evident went Clara died. In Chapter one she says ". . . 2007, a year that would always be mine". So she died and it is currently 2007.

First I want to thank the people I had a chat with, it was nice meeting all of you !
and yes I stole the Valentine's day theme from Shawna.
Notes
I've noticed that you guys pick up on things almost surprisingly well. As a result I want to just say that there are absolutely no connections between this story and S&A. It may seem tempting in upcoming chapters but there aren't.
Additionally The out look of chapter posting should be every 1-3 days. I think Chapter 8 (which is giving me the Reverse Shawna Harrison Another One Of Those Times Synrdome) I have so much content and storylines that I'm concerned that It is not laying out properly or which is the best direction. As a result Chapter 8 will probably be longer than the others.
Safety
As you may know I update chapters ahead of time and I forgot to Password protect my files (hope no one caught on !)

Oh, when the Saint go marching in . . .
First, Your writer is an idioit and forgot to press update when she changed the word "Prologue" to "Epilogue", Sorry thanks Shawna.
I also used 70 out of 88 songs on my playlist so I made a playlist for this post.

okay so what I did was I took the drafts and rounded down the word count to get the total
Endings
So I firmly believe that when someone writes something they should have a plan from beginning to end. So I drew out my plan and once I had 2 or 3 chapters left to go I decided I'd worry about them later.
When I wrote this I knew that I would never have Tomas canonically die because that would be for me to assume that thier would never be a more effective medication for AIDS, So I continued outlining Tomas's career in Ink and Sofia's affair and addiction to prescription meds.
Here I was posting away when I realized that this could really end one way and that was for Tomas to die. For a while I really considered having Sofia end up with Adam. Then I heard the 100 years to Live and I realized I wanted to let my characters grow into a family and set to work.
Elijah Sailor Alexander
Someone sort of called that Elijah (like Elias ??) is a religious name and one of the reasons Sofia choose it was because she had been so effected by the people at Carolina Baptist. As for his middle name he is named after Sailor Jerry, take that as you will.
I heard Broken Road by Rascal Flatts (then the Selah version) and I just saw everything that has been hard for Sofia was worth it becuase she loves her son so much, I was originally going to have her give him up. . . but I couldn't.
Linda's Fake Outs
I didn't just write Rose so I coud throw people off, I had this whole thing about Tomfia having single mothers and Sofia potentially being a single mom that I wanted to give Rose and Tomas time together. She is based on Kirstin Davis from SATC.
Did anyone think Sofia went to London and was marrying Adam? Anyone ? Okay that was super intentional, sorry.
Paris and Sofia & Adam
Sofia sortive has this mild obsession with going to Paris. She talks about seeing the Lourve and the Palace of Versailles (which I belive are the same thing ?) Adam is always promising to take her there. Her necklace (which she almost buys with Julia in chapeter 11) represents that maybe she will have a life with Adam in the future.
Religion
In the beginning I was tilting to making this about Religon. I try not to bring myself into my work but it was my way of coping and dealing with religon that has been a big part of my life. I hinted at Sofia's religious future way back in chapter Chapter 8 when Sofia is driving with Adam
"He let’s the hood down again and we head towards the open road, which is really a dirt path leading away and towards the church, but it’s enough for me."
I had explored the possibility of having Tomas change his religion to one that has a culture rooted in tattooing in doing research I cam across stuff on the after life which is sort of how Litany Lane was born.
Sofia's experiences at CBC pretty much lead to her decision to find god, I wasn't planning on having her actually go to the school but I wanted a place to write in Rev. Glass.
I don't know if I mentioned that CBC is based on Pacific Union College.
Sneaker & Wheel Chair
I sort of threw the sneakers in becuase I was thinking of Converses and how they come in unisex so Sofia wasn't sure if they were her's or not, it's based on a picture I have somewhere.
I foreshadowed Tomas losing the ability to walk in Chapter 11 when he stumbles on the stairs, again when He and Sofia fall down the stairs and finally when gets up from praying and has the "pins and needle" feeling.
Song Wars
I had the 100 years to live for a while, I made a post saying that it would be the last song. . . then I heard Paolo Nutini and I feel in love with the song and was battling it out on which one to use. Then Shawna used it and solved it for me. So the Epilouge was written to 100 years but I love the modern and soulful feel of Loving You (and this guy is Scottish).
Kutless
I heard Kutless on Scrubs (My Bright Idea) when I was working on the last chapter, it would have been too easy to use Lifehouse - Everything. Their tone is like a less harsh Nickelback
Sara B
Like Shawna I'm a big Sara Barellies fan, I was searching for a last minute song and while I like the first few bars of this song I think it sounds a bit like a Disney song.

What I know
I doubt I will every write anything more than 10,000 words about Tomas and Sofia again. I have these mini-fictions in mind. It's tempting to write about just Sofia but I'm not going to condemn her to being a widow just yet, if ever.
In the Epilogue my idea was that Sofia had finished her Nursing school credits (in Spirits she has been in school for a year and a half of a two year program) and works as a NICU and Pallative Care nurse while working on getting a Masters. She probably makes about 38,000 dollars a year and for the first time can really support her family.
Tomas continues to work as a tattoo artist and a freelance artist and once Sofia starts working they move to a rowhouse on 33rd st. in Astoria, Queens. Because Sofia would work long hours he spends most of his time with Elijah, if he decides to become his father or not. . . I still don't know the answer, but he does love him.

Here I was posting away when I realized that this could really end one way and that was for Tomas to die. For a while I really considered having Sofia end up with Adam. Then I heard the 100 years to Live and I realized I wanted to let my characters grow into a family and set to work.
Elijah Sailor Alexander
Someone sort of called that Elijah (like Elias ??) is a religious name and one of the reasons Sofia choose it was because she had been so effected by the people at Carolina Baptist. As for his middle name he is named after Sailor Jerry, take that as you will.
I heard Broken Road by Rascal Flatts (then the Selah version) and I just saw everything that has been hard for Sofia was worth it becuase she loves her son so much, I was originally going to have her give him up. . . but I couldn't.
Linda's Fake Outs
I didn't just write Rose so I coud throw people off, I had this whole thing about Tomfia having single mothers and Sofia potentially being a single mom that I wanted to give Rose and Tomas time together. She is based on Kirstin Davis from SATC.
Did anyone think Sofia went to London and was marrying Adam? Anyone ? Okay that was super intentional, sorry.
Paris and Sofia & Adam
Sofia sortive has this mild obsession with going to Paris. She talks about seeing the Lourve and the Palace of Versailles (which I belive are the same thing ?) Adam is always promising to take her there. Her necklace (which she almost buys with Julia in chapeter 11) represents that maybe she will have a life with Adam in the future.
Religion
In the beginning I was tilting to making this about Religon. I try not to bring myself into my work but it was my way of coping and dealing with religon that has been a big part of my life. I hinted at Sofia's religious future way back in chapter Chapter 8 when Sofia is driving with Adam
"He let’s the hood down again and we head towards the open road, which is really a dirt path leading away and towards the church, but it’s enough for me."
I had explored the possibility of having Tomas change his religion to one that has a culture rooted in tattooing in doing research I cam across stuff on the after life which is sort of how Litany Lane was born.
Sofia's experiences at CBC pretty much lead to her decision to find god, I wasn't planning on having her actually go to the school but I wanted a place to write in Rev. Glass.
I don't know if I mentioned that CBC is based on Pacific Union College.
Sneaker & Wheel Chair
I sort of threw the sneakers in becuase I was thinking of Converses and how they come in unisex so Sofia wasn't sure if they were her's or not, it's based on a picture I have somewhere.
I foreshadowed Tomas losing the ability to walk in Chapter 11 when he stumbles on the stairs, again when He and Sofia fall down the stairs and finally when gets up from praying and has the "pins and needle" feeling.
Song Wars
I had the 100 years to live for a while, I made a post saying that it would be the last song. . . then I heard Paolo Nutini and I feel in love with the song and was battling it out on which one to use. Then Shawna used it and solved it for me. So the Epilouge was written to 100 years but I love the modern and soulful feel of Loving You (and this guy is Scottish).
Kutless
I heard Kutless on Scrubs (My Bright Idea) when I was working on the last chapter, it would have been too easy to use Lifehouse - Everything. Their tone is like a less harsh Nickelback
Sara B
Like Shawna I'm a big Sara Barellies fan, I was searching for a last minute song and while I like the first few bars of this song I think it sounds a bit like a Disney song.

What I know
I doubt I will every write anything more than 10,000 words about Tomas and Sofia again. I have these mini-fictions in mind. It's tempting to write about just Sofia but I'm not going to condemn her to being a widow just yet, if ever.
In the Epilogue my idea was that Sofia had finished her Nursing school credits (in Spirits she has been in school for a year and a half of a two year program) and works as a NICU and Pallative Care nurse while working on getting a Masters. She probably makes about 38,000 dollars a year and for the first time can really support her family.
Tomas continues to work as a tattoo artist and a freelance artist and once Sofia starts working they move to a rowhouse on 33rd st. in Astoria, Queens. Because Sofia would work long hours he spends most of his time with Elijah, if he decides to become his father or not. . . I still don't know the answer, but he does love him.

It was nice hearing all your feedback on chapter 15, I know the music spanned all Generes which I didn't really notice. I almost forgot to post this link I found on a BBC website if you want to know what Lithuanian actually sounds like. It's an. . . interesting language !
